Talking Roiding

It's not a real strategic question.
How our ships do that when we roid, the roids arrive on eta 0 and our ships need some time??
Could I land my ships in the roids to send them with it in instant 0??

Re: Roiding

nish, teleporting roids is just an aspect of the game that is there for simplification. having them come back instantly isnt all that important at a game mechanics level, as rarely will it have an impact on the outcoem of a battle.

Consider ships in a fleet coming back at eta 0, however, and you'd see that making sure that they have a return eta is important .

Putting your ships on the asteroids whilst they teleport home is, as far as i know, not possible. Perhaps in R12?

I think the only time that asteroids should be made to travel home with a fleet would be if Planetarion changed so that you could intercept a fleet that is not at a planet - ie one that is still traveling from A to B. This way, you could nab roids (and perhaps ships?) whilst they are en route and make for a more dynamic (and risky) game.

Though that's just me dreaming again

Edit: my speeling is schocking

Re: Roiding

fleetcatching fleets and roids at the same time, is interesting. new forms of 'size' ie. at home planet and possession aka returning with fleet etc. would also be worth looking into

whilst this isnt what you were prolly talking about, you reminded me of a thought i had recently.

why is there just one size of roid?? why not have two/three/four sizes? if you made certain pods only able to steal certain roids, such as a race's CR pod could steal large roids, and their FI pod steal small roids, you could (in theory) be able to defend yourself better by carefully managing the type of roid that you had - ie, Big Attacker #109321 had a fleet specialised to take large roids. you, being clever, had predominately small roids at your planet, and so he is going to gain bugger all by attacking you. furthermore, you could talior your fleet to counter small ships, as those are the pods that are able to take your roids.

sort of adds another element to attacking strategy, at least. heh.

Re: Roiding

Targets are already very limited as it is, and although it is a good idea, I think it would only work with a much larger memberbase

Re: Roiding

imho this system could be useful if u were only allowed X amount of each roid apart from the largest type, thus meaning big players simply could not raid smaller players.

And smaller players could not just keep gaining and gaining small roids.

I dunno maybe the same point made above would still be applicable
