Barton 2500+ for the price, you can overclock it to 3200+ with ease (even with the locking that AMD have put on them recently)

The Radeon is slightly better.

Overall R9800XT is better, but the R9800Pro is priced ALOT better than its XT cousin.

T-bred and barton are just different AMD Athlon XP CPU cores, the barton is at 166-200MHz FSB with on-die 512Kb L2 cache, the T-bred is 133-166MHz FSB with 256Kb on-die L2 cache. They will both use the same Socket A/462.

Go with a barton, a Mobile 2500+ if your mobo will support it. (If it supports AMD XP Barton 2500+ then it should) that's price wise however.

If your wallet is fat, the best baring the AMD64 CPUs is a P4C 3.2Ghz (200MHz FSB quad pumped), though just because your m8 has problems its no reason why you would have problems aswell.

Not really since you could probably pick up a celeron 466 for 5 pound, which would give almost twice as much power for your peseta as a barton 2500.

You could do it by framerates in, say, UT2003, which would be an exponential whatsit.
