Here i am trying to get further in debt and get another credit card (im going away on holiday before my overtime money hits my account and im broke until then) and the Bank of Scotland say "Sure we usually give you an answer withing a couple of minutes" and seeing as how ive banked with them for >5 years i reckon "Sure no problem" so i apply and they tell me "They'll get in touch" and "A member of staff will review my application" and now im ****ing pissed at them (the dicks).

It means you failed the automatic credit checks and a member of their Application Department (or equivalent) will look at it manually.

It could mean you'll be denied. It's the message I always get these days when applying for a credit card, etc. And they always say no.

It probably means they're busy servicing new customers.

The "we'll give you an answer right away" option usually applies to new customers, as a means to get them in the door. Existing customers, who ought to know enough to get their paperwork submitted well ahead of time, go to the back of the line.

Normally, the 'we'll give you answer' right away stuff is just bollocks. I have a perfect record when it comes to credit history, never late with anything ever (apart from this new £1400 thing, but thats the bank being shit) and when I applied, I was told a member of staff would call me back etc. When they did they offered me a £2500 limit no problem.

Have you moved around a lot recently? Changed addresses? Not stopped in one place for more than 2 minutes etc? Thats what normally ****s a credit check.

Ive stayed in the same place for nearly 5 years.

I have no ccj's.

I have never had a late cc payment.

I do however have an overdraft with the Bank of Scotland.

I'm ****ed if i know what i've dont wrong :shrug:
