It would be much easier for us if you had a more specific question regarding the game.
In essense, you control a single planet in the planetarion universe. You build ships, complete research and constructions, and engage in diplomacy to capture asteroids.
Asteroids are your major source of both income (to build more ships, to capture more asteroids) and score, and from score comes rank, and the idea is to be ranked #1 in the universe.
Unfortunately, you have signed up just prior to the round actually finishing. Dont worry though, this means you have a chance to learn the ropes before being fully ready to take on next round, which will begin shortly.

read through this thread, it gives a quick introduction as to the things you should be looking to do at the very start of the round, ie which researches and constructions to do, and so on. However, its not totally up to date at the moment, you should be able to get the jist of whats going on.
