Talking my vision

Well I haven't read all the reply's that have been made, but I sure think that there can be changes...
but the statement that 2:3 will not be concerned about 150:10 is not true, an universe isn't a straight line but circulair
so if 150:10 is the last galaxy they will have 150:9 and 1:1 as direct neighbours.
The middle galaxies will therefore have the same difficulty as the boundary's

Furthermore I don't like the way how the ETA's are going up skyhigh, it will be very difficult for the normal person
(read: the one with a real life) to get some roids he will be covered all the time unless you find a big inactive galaxy.
I think when that happens I should go to the casino and try my luck there ;-)

The idea of that traveltime is good but the ETA's are just too high (not higher then 12hours is mho):
galaxy > a very low eta as low as eta 3 for ALL ships, just a privilige being in a galaxy

outside galaxy > I really think that warp zone is a good plan, start with eta 5, from there all ships will have the different eta's per class as we have now.
And also when you are in 1:1 it will take longer to travel to 50:10 then to 3:1 you can think of +1 eta per parallel or cluster change and a
maximal +eta of 2/3/4 per cluster/parallel going up. so when you are 1:1 and you go to 1:2 it will be eta5 + 1,
but when you go to cluster 50:1 it will be 5 + 2/3/4 =7/8/9 and when you als want to change the parallel for instance 50:10 it will be 7/8/9 +2/3/4 = 9/10/11

this last subject for short: you will need your neigbours a lot and will not go very far outside your nearby galaxy's,
everyone has neigbours ;-) but there is also a possibility for new targets if you combine your strength with your neighbours,
then you can go for max eta's.

The travel time thing proposed for next round isnt really an issue, as with 700 players we'd have to be in 3-man gals to see any effective number of clusters.

Hmm i really like this idea of making it more shipe based: neighbouring gal eta 6 for all ships sounds like fun. Then the next gal all but fighters eta+1 etc. Problem is i also like getting a score criterium in the eta's. I even prefer that to this and a combination might be hard to implement and make things rather difficult to comprehend.
High eta's are not a real problem if a lot of people suffer the same high eta's: if defence can't make the same eta, they will be too late, whether it's eta 12 or 15. Problem is that it's boring.
A universe without gals as we know it could be interesting as well. We need some kind of buddy system then though... or a hardcoded alliance: small alliances will get there members placed closer together, bigger alliances spread over larger distances. Large powerblocks all over the universe.

or maybe 1 big universe without the galaxies and all the same eta's!!! except to defend is -1 eta because otherwise you will always be too late! the only differences in eta's are by ship-class.

Then everyone can get defence if you are active enough! ;-)

i suggjest we remove pods and the different warships,and ad tractors and farm equipment. That way we could all sit on our own planets,not having anything to do with others,bar from the weekly livestock marked where we sell sheeps and cows.

uhm I did not say eta5 did I? So the only one that is played is you.

I didn't even mentioned ANY eta'5 in the last thread and if I would choose an eta it would be the eta9 for attack and eta8 for defence! Maybe some lower eta's in gal only but for the rest not. Altho I don't know what we can do with the shipclasses, maybe with bigger ships get eta 10 or with only FI getting eta8 but not lower! Same for defence, eta 9 big and eta7 FI, therefore you will always be as fast as the attacker.

And given the fact that launch time is 30 seconds before the tick this becomes ETA 5.

Or did I miss something?
