Who were we? (R10)
If there's actually anyone left reading this forum who plays the game, then I suppose its time for this thread to appear.
I was 4:2:8, Hero of The Day, and had lots of fun, finishing in 73rd place, which is my first top-100 finish in 8 rounds of playing the game
Value: 9.872.513
Score: 2.505.238
Roids: 3209 total
Ships (64406 total)
Sirtalis 5000 Elaphe 10
Viperidae 20000 Eryx 19881
Morelia 9683 Imperator 3166
Nasicus 4736 Varanus 1930
I haven't played actively for the last 2 weeks since I got home from uni for xmas, but until then I was using frigs to attack with. Since I stopped attacking, I built lots of Nasicus, and before yesterday I had a nice round 5000.
See you all next round

I quit but, since I couldn't delete myself, I just covert-opped people until the end of the round. I was 15:5:2 - Furry Beast of the Nether Regions

Hades 1551
Cerberus 98
Vesuvius 72
This was possibly the most boring round ever, possibly 2nd compared to r5. After about two weeks, I simply became a scanner for Eclipse so I could help out, while not being active enough to cramp my RL.
I went for ships/traveltime, then scans...as combat was un-interesting, and I cba to attack (I did maybe 6 the whole round) as the game doesn't hold as much interest as it used to. My fleet got smashed up (hence the off numbers of inc/cerb/ves) as everything home was bombed, only my Hades were out and survived.
I managed to finish most of the researches, getting up to Mining V and Roids XIIII, finished everything else. In total, I had 50 amps, about 30 various mines, and 75 finance centers. Nothing else substantial; a couple security centers, research labs, etc.
Off I ride into the sunset.

Was quite a nice round for me..... eventhough i had about the worst gal ever. The start was fairly ok with 4 reasonably active ppl (including me). But some exiled to get a better gal.. which i couldn't be arsed to so i was left in a gal which got no communication or coorperation at all. Was top 300 for a good deal of the round (which was nice considering the gal i was in).. untill some NoS/hirr ppl came along and killed me (sleeping is bad mmkay?) which left me ending the place i ended.. but still had a enjoyable round in my ally =)
Depending on what Pa brings on next and my school work etc i might be around again for the next round =)

Re: Who were we? (R10)
1:5:9 Boldness of Helvetica
Iniitally I was expecting to join Olympians, but when they disappered very early on, I moved to play with my old friends from the YHQ era in New Dawn.
Prior to last day lemmingness was ranked 499th, with 975 roids, as GC of a galaxy ranked about 110. Mid round I was bordering on the top 250 with 1.3k roids when someone discovered that my galaxy slept at night and was able to roid us dry, taking me down to below 200 roids.
I switched to covert ops and devoted the rest of my round to harassing the planet that killed us, a tactic that was a lot of fun until a chance exile brought a HC of that alliance into my galaxy, and I decided to rebuild.
Initially, I relied entirely on building Nasicus, I had about 500 of them before I built anything else, since no-one exepcted to need so much anti-BS defence early on, then when defence started appearing I switched to bluffing with fi fleets, with great success.
In a high activity galaxy, I think I could have done really well, but I took the decision to sleep evey night instead. :-)

Re: Who were we? (R10)
I had a great first 'proper' round. ND and my gal are full of great guys and gals (thanks for making it so much fun ppl!), and none of them took it too seriously I also got to do some crazy things, launching attacks on 2 top 10 planets which were successful, and lemminging someone on the last day as I promised I'd pay their planet a visit. Dropped me from my highest rank of 261 down to a final ending rank of 495 (worth it though ).
Co-ords 15:10:7
Value: 2.825.260

Ships (9483 total)
Scythe 126 Rapier 2500
Scimitar 913 Gladius 3607
Broadsword 1941 Claymore 396
My lemming run cost me 869 clays, 559 broadswords and nearly 7k frigs, but it was fun!

Re: Who were we? (R10)
i was 4:8:8 - General Montgomery of 101st Airborne
fgave up just after FAnG debacle, due to a certain planet who ended #1 recalling his defence 10minutes before tick because he didnt want to lose 1mill value (although it would have been shared between him and me) and consequently 1 place in rankings, and seeing as i was at school i didnt know so lost all fleet and dropped from 900k and 2.5k roids to present score of something like 300kscore n 200 roids.
Had 1300 vesuvius at end of ticks if i remember correctly.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
This turned out to be a particularly uninspiring round for me. I had originally had quite high hopes for it - new rules, random galaxies, limited alliance size..............
I suppose the disbanding of my alliance (Olympians) right at the start of the round didn't help - and finding myself in an inactive galaxy (again) pretty much finished any hopes I might have had for a reasonable final ranking.
As it was, I finished like this;
The Arcane Chas of Arcania (7:9:4)
Score : 659,186 (+2,859)
Value : 2,554,842 (+9,634)
Roids : 413 (0)
Rank : 603 (+11)
Value Rank : 592 (+5)
Roids Rank : 1,852 (+1)
Ships (6860 total)
Banshee 1000 Revenant 1000
Medusa 1000 Incubus 1000
Hades 1000 Cerberus 1000
Vesuvius 760 Olympus 100
Despite all this, I managed to have some fun - during the early/middle stages of the game I was the top defender for my new alliance (a 10 day holiday at the end of October put an end to that) and I never stopped being as active as possible.
Roll on the next round.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
2:8:1, The Master of The Deck.
Galaxy was doing really well at the start (#3 at one point), but just gave up.
Fleet hasn't moved at all since about week 3. Finshed ranked at 1224, 320 or so roids, about 1800 cruisers and 500 battleships. (No idea on exact figures, didn't look before they reset for havoc) All in all, a relatively dull round.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
I started as 4:4:1. Maximus Decimus of The Roman Legions
Dunno why but when protection mode went of we didnt have a single day without atleast 2 waves on us. Probably because we didnt have a single Ecl/Ely/ToT guy in the galaxy, except Nitros for a couple of days till we kicked him out and we had one of the top FAnG planets in the gal and a top 25 Dragons planet (myself). We went down slowly and after a few weeks without a sinlge night rest we exiled ourselves. Think there is only 1 guy who ended in 4:4 who was there from the beginning. Halfway the round I got bored and had some RL troubles so I quit.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
I started as 4:4:10. The Essence of Gravity
Dunno why but when protection mode went my entire gal didnt have a single day without atleast 2 waves on them from Ecl and Ely. (never ToT though)
After i got exiled i ended up some small c30+ galaxy where i researched my scans and covert ops.
I exiled again, and again
I finally ended up in a semi active gal - 17:9
I stayed there till 2 days before the rounds end, together with Feni
I just like Wakko did an attemt to end up with Sonnenbomber in 16:4
Though i failed i ended up somewhere else with some WP dudes and some others..
Still there atm..

Re: Who were we? (R10)
As my signature suggested, i was 7:20:7 Ultimate Newbie of Dark Aurora. not the most orignial name, but i really only decided to make a planet to witness Spinner's crowning glory - and was not overly surprised by the result :\.
anyway, i only activly played the round for the first three weeks at most, due to needing to do my university entrance (and other) exams part way through the round. Thus, i finished with a rank around cochese (~1200) and buggar all fleet etc. I still helped Vision defend for much of the round, but my ships became more useless as fleets with thousands of battleships became common :\. Nevertheless, almost all of the enjoyment of this round was due to vision, so i thank Legs and various other minions for their cheerfulness.
As for a fleet (of which i didnt have much) about half of it was Templars, a quarter other CR (Champions, mainly Vanguards) and the remainder were Frigates and Battleships. Templars are pretty cool, but there were alot of things that targeted them - bring back the old combat & initiative!
Anyway, i'm looking forward to next round, as competant people (like MrBrick) are now in charge. Should result in some good dicussions on this board, at least :P

Re: Who were we? (R10)
Noone succeeded MrB as 'creator'. they finally abolished the title creator, only Spinner & co are worthy of that title. Atm Pa is reign by PA-team, with in the top layer A2, Phil^, Mit, Karmulean and Jammyjimmy I believe, and Keef als Jolt representative...

For anyone who's curious/not figured it out already those coordinates match those of Dreadnought in the Eclipse in-game arbiter.
Incidently a mod already posted elsewhere that it probably was him, but I just thought I'd point this out.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
Well I had my suspicions already, but after that post I checked my DB and saw the same... Had like 1k known coords, but only a handfull nicks coupled with them. Dreadnought happened to be one of them.

Re: Who were we? (R10)
I was lucky enough to play with one of my favorite lemmings, Mondo.
I was 1:6:3 - Strych9 of The Assamite
I don't rememeber my score/value from before the lemming run though.
