PAteam actually have surprisingly little to do with rollbacks, on the whole.

Re: Wtf????????
Resource 'compensation' is stupid, it just leads to faster game stagnation. If they have to give anything at all, it should be roids :\

That doesn't invalidate his point though.

Re: Wtf????????
i mean, generally rollbacks are a pain in the arse to decide about as there are always two parties - those who support one, and those who don't. What i've never understood is why a third option is always invented that pisses both parties off somewhat!

I suppose they could shuffle everytime someone asks for a rollback, or perhaps delete everyones ships.
That'd annoy just about everyone, But I must admit i'd probably piss myself laughing if it happened.

Not *that* sort of third option!
I think the problem is that PAteam tries to please everybody, when in truth that's impossible.

Which cannot be protected, hence taken by the larger planets, giving them an even larger advantage, leading to faster stagnation. Resources cannot be stolen by larger planets, only smaller ones. This gives the smaller planets a chance, be it a small one, to catch up.

res donations help the alliances with lots of small players quite a bit... but not the alliances with large number of big players

How on earth do you reach that conclusion?
For a start, PAX is not prone to stagnation, because of the 6000 roid cap, at which point big planets can't outgrow each other and must resoirt to fighting each other.
Secondly, having this sudden influx of resources plays into the hands of small active players who can covert-op big inactive 'stagnant' ones
and thirdly this is 5 ticks of resources for the top planets and 5 days of resources for the smallest, so it means small targets are able to build disproprortionate defences with it.

Re: Wtf????????
Why is there not a clear rule with such incidents: game was down ==> rollback to the tick it happened, *immediate* announcement about it, tickstart again on a fixed time. Simple rule, no discussion, clear to everybody. Why did this never happen.... every round the same, something goes wrong (this can happen and is nothing to be ashamed of) and after a day of tiptoeing around the problem, some ressources are donated.
Strict rules for different scenarios clearly would help. IMO

Re: Wtf????????
People've been saying this kind of thing for rounds and rounds now. Even small businesses have set plans of action given certain scenarios, so I fail to see why it would be so much trouble for PA to implement the same.
Oh wait...
