Interesting Battlereports please
As people probably know, most alliances are frantically collecting battlereports trying to work out the stats and formulas.
I think that for the benefit of the solo players, we should have this sort of thing out in the open on the forums.
So, please post any battlereports that you think provide any useful insights into the workings of combat here.
Remember to remove all co-ords, include roid caps, and mention if you know either side had War as engineering priority one two or three.
I'll start off with a simple one...
Banshee 0 0 20 91
Dagger 17 50 0 0
(no roids capped)
Note that 50 Daggers (costing 190k resources) killed more ships than 91 Banshees (cost 236.9k), presumably this is due to their damage being "decent" rather than "average"?

would say so, quite annoying though considering the defence fleet always fire @ ships (so target = 100% fi) while your fleet is mixed/mixed (assuming you didn't research any tactica things yet).
I don't know exactly how mixed/mixed is being worked..... but if its equilly devided over all tactical options it would mean...
40% is targetting ships no matter what
the other 60% is mixed..... for tactical options.. factories, structures (or are these 2 counted as 1?), ships and roids.
that would mean that only 55% (40% + 1/4th of the 60% ships) was firing @ the bashees. Taking that in account there must be quite a difference between average and decent damage then :\
P.S. maybe its an idea to look for beta BR's i think there are plenty lying around here and there, and by the looks the stats haven't changed since last beta (dunno about minor tweaks though)

But you CAN see how much easier the xan fighters get killed 12.5% of the banshees got killed against 17.5% of the sirtalis ....

If I am reading that br correctly, 50 daggers killed 20 banshees, and 91 banshees killed 17 daggers.
I am assuming that initiative went out with a lot of other stuff?
That works out to ~2.5 daggers to kill a banshee, but ~5 banshee to kill a dagger - as you say, quite a difference between average and decent dmg - although it would be wrong to assume too much from such small numbers.
The other br shows approx the same figures tho ... 100 daggers kill 39 of the mixed attacking fleet which is predominently banshee's, while the attackers 310 ships kill 61 daggers, ie ~2.5 daggers compared to ~5 banshees&co to make a kill.
I had heard that defence had a slight advantage - the assumption being that they aren't trying to cap roids or destroy buildings and are therefore 100% focussed - but I wonder if there is hard evidence for this? In these 2 admittedly small examples we have the daggers both attacking and defending, and performing approximately the same - or am I missing something?

they don't have to disturb 125 Fr =) as explained in other posts on the boards about 15% (mayb 30%) of the attacking fleet go for the roids. First off al you prolly need 2 or 3 Fr (or even more?) to take 1 roid, and while being fired at they won't be able to take that many roids. If you take in account that about 20 of those Fr (when calcing with the 15%) go for roids it won't leave much space for disturbance.
When battles become bigger i think it will show itself more (especially when the tactical fleet priorities have been researched)

I got surprisingly few roids here... my target had just over 200 roids and was roughly 4/5ths my Networth - do you think 150 FI was sufficiently disturbed by 20 FI and 30 FR to only get a tiny amount of roids??

i can assure u that is not the weirdest thing i have seen.....
I have seen a battle report that showed no defence at all, the attacker lost a cruiser and didn't gain a single roid ... no THAT is weird if you ask me...

the other 60% is mixed..... for tactical options.. factories, structures (or are these 2 counted as 1?), ships and roids.

well, the defence fleets are also sent as 'Mixed' 'Mixed'. meaning they are only around 55% focus on ships. Therefore, Daggers ar better than banshees on an one-on-one contest. However, terran's advantage really only comes in once they have Cr/Bs(their strengths). i guess they're disadvantaged in their smaller ships. However, if you look at the Zik ships, they're all fairly balanced out, except the armour of their big ships are increased while dmg decreased compared to their smaller ships. so i'd say Zik is kinda an all-rounder race for PaX. Xan is of course high dmg, low amour. as opposed to high amour and low dmg to cath. and well, terran's only characteristic is good large ships and useless small ships.
