Re: Football Manager 05
It is the first one in ages that I haven't bought immediately. After playing the gold demo a bit I just didn't feel that impressed and imagine if I bought it then it wouldspent most the time just sitting on my shelf.

Re: Football Manager 05
The only reason I've actually bought it straight away, is as an up yours to Eidos for stealing the CM name.

Re: Football Manager 05
The BBC website already gave it a 9.5 out of 10 and kindly pointed out to the masses that it's the true continuation of CM.

By "Get the Job Done" do you mean "Collapse in a pitiful heap and disband after a series of internal arguments, and splinter into a hundred different groups" ?

Remember how you felt when you picked up CM4 after playing CM 97/98 for so long? Thats how it feels. Theres a ton of new stuff to get involved in, the engine is completely redesigned , theres a better 2d match engine thats fully customisable (change the nets , change the balls), "Manager Mind Games" that let you criticise or praise your fellow managers (especially fun in online games) , and generally its more realistic.
You wont be winning 46 games a season with Diablo. There is no real "Super Tactic" as yet, although im sure someone will be able to generate something thats close to perfect as the months go on.
Essentially , its what 0304 should have been, but with knobs on

Re: Football Manager 05
well.. guess I have to consider taking a trip to the local dealer and get me a copy then..
btw.. how is the training "section" of the game? looked at it yet? I didnt exactly fancy the one in cm0304, hopefully it has improved to the better.

If you didnt like training in CM 0304 , you wont like it here. Its more complex, has more options, but you see the benefits a lot more over time. Your best bet to understand the Training functions of the game is to head over to www.sigames.com and check out the Training and Tactics forum. Theres a well known set of training routines for CM 0304 developed by the guys at CMGreece , and the forum is full of FM Fanatics that are constantly developing new routines for all positions, as well as for youth squads , reserve squads, etc etc.

Re: Football Manager 05
i shall finish my last game with Accrington Stanley on 03/04 and then go and buy FM05.
Not before.
If it's as easy to get to grips with as 03/04 I shant be pleased.

Unlike CM0304 , its actually "PLayable out of the box".
Few bugs, but in single player mode, nothing game defining.
