Seeing as it seems to be "the thing to do", here's this...
And please, PLEASE don't say Fight Club.

Tremors and Pleasantville.
But that combination was random choice from a 'favourite movie' list of probably 20+ films.

I doubt I'd say the same two if answering a similar thread tomorrow. There a fair amount I rate highly ofr different reasons, be it Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, Requiem For A Dream or Magical Mystery Tour.
Ether binges and the dude are winners though

heh, Fear and Loathing has risen through the ranks, i guess cause i can relate to Hunter more (scary innit), but my second place varies, Bif Lebowski is at least top 15 of mine, anything inbetween those will reach number 2 depending on mood.

Two films are to little to decide, but just now, it had to be
1.Beat Street
2. Style Wars.

I don't believe the true film buff can have two favourite films. There's so many genres, styles... so many moods, so many times-of-day.
So...
Top 2 Mainstream Films I've Seen In The Cinema Recently:
- 24hr Photo
- 28 days Later
Top 2 Mainstream Films I've Seen On TV/Video Recently:
- Boondock Saints
- Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers (`70's remake)
Top 2 Spanish-speaking Films:
- Todo Sobre Mi Madre
- Amores Perros
Top 2 German-speaking Films:
- Das Boot
- Lola Rennt! (Run Lola! Run!)
Top 2 Not-English, Not-Above:
- Améile
- Four Seasons (Summer Tale)
Plus of course, there's "Top 2 Action Films", "Top 2 Drama Films", "Top 2 Romance Films". Etc, etc...
<edit> Plus of course... FIGHT CLUB!!! </edit>
M. (Possibly pretentious?)

They are evil.
Just shoot them and continue.
