programs automatically close in wondows
Several programs keep automatically closing in windows. This includes the games, Spy Sweeper and the Norton Antivirus installer. is this a problem with windows or does it sound like I have a virus or something? I have no idea how I can check without a virus scanner, which I cannot install!

if it's windows xp, try looking in the system log and the applications log for any errors that might be related to it.
start -> control panel -> administrative tools -> event viewer

checked for events... nothing exciting. checked for viruses, had some, but nothing too bad. got rid of them. still happening. Time to reinstall windoze thanks for your help everyone
