Windows media player

I'm on Win2k pro, with the latest media player update (I downloaded it to stop the damn thing pestering me). Everytime I access my MP3 folder, I get kind of a 'preview' at the side (You know, where theres a really small media player in the side bar), this appears to be causing trouble making my folder freeze for a moment, this does clear by alt-tabbing into another window or whatever, but it is really bloody annoying now. Is there anyway I can close the preview thing, or is this a known problem that has a fix?

yes, but it will remove the entire preview section on the left.

Control Panel ---> System ---> Advanced Tab ---> Settings button under Performance ---> uncheck Use Common Tasks in Folders
