I think Ayr is well known for having a ned infestation, so yeah, I'd throw it in with Glasgow. However I might be confusing it with Airdrie since I'm not too knowledgable about the western provinces.

I wouldnt be surprised. It also had 6 of the 10 poorest districts in the UK, in some feature I read a couple of years ago.

apparently I was wrong, Glasgow only has 4 of the poorest areas in the UK, although it does manage to get the top 3.
