Someone should add IRC clients for Mac OSX though. I'll assume most linux users have stumbled upon IRC at some point, otherwise there's X-chat which is the most like mIRC, irssi which is a bit harder to learn but very powerful and useful, and bitchx which I know only from reputation.
I think X-chat comes in a flavor for Mac as well, but I wouldn't be sure.
