Planet Choices
 

So we pick a race, but why not a planet type/class as well? People like customization and this could add an additional, but minor dimension that is fun. Each planet type/class would add some sort of stat loosely related to the description (we can have fun with it of course).

Possible Examples

• Gas Giant - 5% chance incoming scans do not get through (duh, there's gas everywhere!)
• Frozen Wasteland - 2% covert ops success bonus (those cold mofos work much harder when offworld)
• Terrestrial - 1% ship production & 1% construction speed (lots of nice land to build on and use)
• Inferno - 2% ship cost reduction (not much work to melt those metals on this super hot planet and build ships from it)
• Barren - Max structure limit increased by +50 (so much space to use here!)
• Unclassified - Two randomized stats (one positive,one negative, 0-5%) to a random set of stats TBD - examples +4% ship cost, -3% ship prod speed - (this planet is wild and unknown, thus the gamble on what you're getting could be good, neutral, or bad - but not overly bad as these are minor changes)

this doesnt sound like that bad of an idea

there was a game i used to play many years ago called pax imperia
which was similiar to PA in many aspects
while the planets within the universe were randomised you were able to customise your race
to be aquatic, subteranian, or or either required a helium or nitrogen rich environment as opposed to oxygen that effected things such as research construction and population rates

I'm not really sure how much another 'government' would add, but sure, why not, seems fine.
