Top of the Flops
Do you agree with this list of players who were absolutely crap last season or so?
Quote:
1 · Kanu (Arsenal) - Used to be an asset, but if Arsène Wenger could prise him off the payroll he'd save nearly £2m a year. Cost £4.5m in 1999; 60 starts, 29 goals.
· Winston Bogarde (Chelsea) - Signed on a Bosman three years ago. Has made two starts and plans to sit out his £2m-a-year contract, which runs out in 12 months.
· Agustin Delgado (Southampton) - Has spent more time in Ecuador recovering from injuries than he has on the pitch. Cost £3.5m in 2001 and has made two starts.
2 · Seth Johnson (Leeds) - Unveiled by Peter Ridsdale as Leeds's new £7m star from Derby County in October 2001. Since then, 15 tarts and one goal.
· Matias Vuoso (Man City) - Cost £3.5m just over a year ago but didn't even make the bench in the League Cup last season. Now on loan to Santos Laguna.
3 · Corrado Grabbi (Blackburn) - Striker signed from Ternana in the Italian lower leagues for £6.75m. In two seasons his 11 starts and 14 substitute appearances have produced two Premiership goals.
· Bosko Balaban (Aston Villa) - John Gregory thought £5.8m was a fair price for this Croatia striker. Two summers later, no Premiership starts, one in League Cup and no goals. Earns £20,000 a week.
· Alpay (Aston Villa) - The £5.6m defender has promised to try this season after going on strike last year - he made just five starts for his £20,000 a week.
4 · Carl Cort (Newcastle) - Unlucky with injuries, maybe. Unloved by Geordies, definitely. Nineteen starts in three years, after a £7m move from Wimbledon. 'I've had a word with the lad,' says Sir Bobby Robson. 'It's time he gave something back to the club.'
· Gabriel Ambrosetti (Chelsea) - Signed by Gianluca Vialli in August 1999 for £3.5m from Vicenza as 'the Italian Ryan Giggs'. Has made nine Premiership starts in four years.
5 · Nick Barmby (Leeds) - Terry Venables's legacy to Leeds: £2.75m more debt in return for 16 starts and four goals. Left out of today's squad to play Newcastle.
· Steve Marlet (Fulham) - Jean Tigana's £11.5m capture from Lyon paid back the fee with 10 Premiership goals since his arrival in 2001.
· Francis Jeffers (Arsenal) - After turning down a £28,000-a-week deal at Everton, joined Arsenal for £8m in summer 2001. He has made four Premiership starts.
6 · Mark Burchill (Portsmouth) - £900,000 from Ipswich in 2001, made nine starts. 'Good lad,' says Harry Redknapp, 'but I can't find a role for him.'
7 · Duncan Ferguson (Everton) - Defining the genre, the millionaire has started 26 league games since 2000.

Anyone else I missed?

Although last season was moderate at Man City, and the flop wasnt a Premiership one.... Anelka should be included on the list for being such an arsehole, wasting millions of Real's money, and then becoming utter ****.

More time on the pitch and less time in brothels might help in this case.
