Have you ever planned to do something incredibly stupid?
First some background...I'm 16 so last Wednesday I finally got my permit, and there are some restrictions:
1. Always must have a licensed driver in the car
2. Only one other non-family member passenger
3. Cannot drive between the hours of 11pm-5am
Anyway so I have a gf but her parents are quite protective. My dad is away in Georgia till tommorow afternoon on some doctor's conference, and my mom works nights (9:30pm-7:30am) so she'll be out of the house. We have a third car, so my plan is to tonight drive over to my girlfriends house at maybe 12-12:30 then throw some stones at her window or something (she's a really light sleeper) and then she can sneak out of her house and we have a few hours late at night together by ourselves. However her parents could wake up (very bad) or if for some reason I got pulled over I'd be in really deep **** with my permit restrictions etc. I plan to keep below the speed limit though, and it's only a 10 min drive. Should I go for it or stay at home?

Go for it.
The worst that can happen is you get banned from driving for like a year or something.
Actually the worst that can happen is you can kill people due to your driving in which case you will get royally ****ed but you know dude "whatever".

Go for it, though drive AT the speed limit, not under, more likely to get stopped if you're driving too slow and look young than if you're driving like a normal person would.

If it's a 10 minute drive then it can't be tah for to walk.
Also, arrange this with your girlfriend first so no stones would be required.

Obviously I'd drive safer then I usually might.
And yea, I wouldn't go like 20mph under speed limit lol, but not 10 over either. Besides I'm only the highway for 8 miles, then it's just small backroads.

Where in the world are you?
I.e. how likely is it you'll actually encounter cops on the way there?

It's a 10 minute drive, 8 of those minutes going 65 on the highway. Both of us live right off the highway.
Then the element of 'surprise' is lost however. I've hinted at what I'm gonna try to do already though, so I guess that would be safer and also less noise/less chance of parents waking up.

Northern NJ. There isn't much action from cops around here, although I guess there might be more activity since it is a Saturday night.

Because people who think they drive safely never get involved in car accidents.

Indeed. However my point was that I wouldn't be going 80 the entire time. Obviously I could still get into an accident, but why worry about what could happen?
Oh yea and if her parents caught us I'd probably never be able to see her again.

i watched a film the other day where somebody did something like this
if i remember correctly 2 cars exploded, some scary goths got angry and chased him and he ended up in hospital.
anyway, my point is this: you should do it, and film it. it's bound to be better than the pile of **** i spent 2 hours watching

I drive with people illegally all the time (ie with people on thier 'restricted' meaning they can drive on thier own, but not with passengers who haven't had thier full for 2 years) and we pass cops sometimes obviously, but have never been caught. Just remember that they wont know just by looking at you that you're breaking the law, as long as you're not drawing attention to yourself. Look like you aren't doing anything illegal, and you will be fine.
Oh and warn your gf beforehand. Suprising her probably isn't worth the risk of her parents finding out.

Look natural. Don't look in the mirror all the time, don't drive to slow, rather a tad to fast. Dress like a adult. If you get pulled over, act like a adult, but don't admit to anything.
Also, if it's a saturday night, the cops should be busy whit drunken brawlers, drunken taggers and drunken burglars, not some fresh driver. So act cool, and it will probably go cool.
BUT, remeber, whit every offence theres a chance to get caught, so remeber the risk, and think thorught if it's worth it before committing one.

Ah well, it's not looking good guys. She's worried that her parents will find out because her mom is sick and not sleeping, so she wants to wait at least until she sleeps over a friends house. And her parents are the worst parents ever, if they found out that I drove over at 12 to see her, even if we didn't do anything, they still would probably say I couldn't see her ever again. Oh well, I'm only 16 so I don't really mind, there's plenty of time to find the right time.
Thanks for the advice though Snurx, I'll remember it for the next chance..
