I still maintain that we should purge the entire forums. It's the only way to be completely fair.

Hey guys, now I know I'm only just back and all my old posts are now labelled "Guest" because I didn't post for, like, 6 months, but there are some really old threads out there that must be dear to people's hearts, and I know a lot of those threads don't get RP'd on very well, but they're like an old pair of slippers - sure, they're battered and holed and don't keep your feet warm, but they fit. By all means, get rid of dead threads, but don't just clear out the whole lot. That's just going to far.

Personally I find it amusing that a supplied answer to the number of pointless threads and overdone bureaucracy is that we should set up a thread nominating a thread that we don't think should stay, then giving reasons, arguements, discussions, maybe a vote on it... appeals proceedures maybe, referral to the court of human rights protesting that the deletion of this thread is removing someone's right to free speach...

Sorry got carried away there.

Personally, I'd trust in the mod's judgement here. It's pretty damn obviosu which threads should go (all convos, all setup threads that didn't get anywhere, all inactive threads)

That would pretty much clean the place out anyway.

The purge needs to be total. One is less likely to draw graffiti on a clean wall than on a wall that already has graffiti on it.

Suggestion: How about we have the mods delete all threads that have not been posted on in two week or one week set up/pointless threads. That way we can see what we have left and whether we want a total purge or not.

What's the point of deleting 1-2 page threads that will just get reposted anyway?

I didn't say delete 1 or 2 page threads. I said threads that are 1 to 2 WEEKS old. Then figure out what to do from there.
Everyone should have the threads they didn't want lost saved for their own records or for what other reason already since we thought they were going to be lost anyways. If you don't tough, you had plenty of time.

Oops, sorry PK. It was hard to tell.

Anyways. I just looked. If we delete all old theads,set up threads, finished threads it leaves us with about 10 threads. They are:
1.The star ship Idiot
2. Masters of Andromeda II (New Horizons - The Dawn of a New Era)
3. Legend of The Dragon - (The Winds of Fate) - Part III
4.The Idler's Return
5.Crimson Skies
6,Academy of Psychics - Primary Location
7.Road Warriors
8.Colonies: Alsar Secondus
9. Nightmare
10. Gunsmoke over the west (yes i know it's old but we're waiting on responses from Ark who isn't on a lot)

Do we really need a total purge. Darkling already got rid of a lot of the stickies. If anyone wants one of the threads mentioned deleted or one saved, mention it now.

I feel that either a complete wipe of all the boards is in order, or at the very least cleaning up the threads so about the 10 or so listed by Serene there.

Let's do as Darkling said. Make a thread to nominate threads that should be deleted, ie any thread that isn't promoting good RPing. If there are one or two fun, random threads, fine. But lets not let them take over the rest of the board.

I don't consider myself the greatest RPer, far from it. But I know I take pride in most the posts I make. Can you say the same thing?

(me) Most of'em, sure. And maybe we shouldn't take this pride thing about RP all too serious. Imo.

And one more thing. It doesn't matter who is an oldie, newbie, midbie, whatever other name you can come up with to justify your existance.

my threads (the random kind) are usually short lived.. and asked for closure/deletion by me when i get bored of'em too. not that needed to be said here though.

Whilst serious RP'ing is important, there's always got to be room for just a little random fun, so people can still be active when they can't be bothered to construct a decent post for a serious thread

Well im completing aprt of the purge you will now notice tha lack of the previous nine pages, and eflt only with one now. If you wish it to be a total wipe then now would be the time ti decide otherwise it shall be left as it is currently untill other options present themselves.
