Or are some government websites from around the world seriously shit?

Example: The website of the Chinese government.

Am I the only one who finds this kind of thing baffling, and rather nigglingly unsatisfactory?

I mean, here is a country that has a massively expanding economy, (7th largest in the world.) the world's largest population, resources beyond measure, has done much to economically westernise itself, and yet it still has an official site which looks for all the world as if it was designed by a student of GCSE IT with the assistance of Microsoft Paint.

(Taiwan, bizzarely, has an infinetly better site.)

I know that I'm sounding like a crazed idiot here, and that Dante will make a post saying 'I'm personally more concerned about the brutality of the Chinese Government rather than it's website ', but this really gets on my piabs to an almost inordinate extent. I feel like e-mailing them and asking them "Seriously, who the **** designed your website? You should really consider legal proceedings against them'.
