This Euro vote thing (UK)
How's it all going to work?
Do you just get something in the post saying 'GO AND VOTE YES YOU SOULESS INFIDELS'.
Which you take and go and to vote with?

Pretty much.
Although everyone will vote "No". But hey, at least they'll have tried.
And there is no referendum planned at the moment.

Re: This Euro vote thing (UK)
It'll probably be a postal ballot, which means you get a form sent to your house, which you fill in and post off. The idea is that people live nearer to a postbox than to a polling booth, and so turnout will increase. Unfortunatley for me, I live nearer to a polling booth than to a post box so it'll just inconvenience me.
Apparantly they're also easier to rig.

Are you talking about the euro or the European constitution? Cos we're having a referendum on both at some point in the future apparently.
I would definitely vote no on the referendum. Not sure about the euro though, depends when we'd be joining.

Re: This Euro vote thing (UK)
Will be voting yes for both.
Although, to be honest, im in two minds out the euro.
Cos the exchange rate is pretty good for me atm.
At the end of the day, this whole euro thing, doesnt really matter that much to me.
Shit im lying. Cos i dont like the constitution atm.

I'll vote yes.
You can't piss the French off by voting no.

Re: This Euro vote thing (UK)
A Constitution is a good idea, although it's emphatically not a good idea to give the job of chairing the commitee that formulates it to an ex-French President who was lampooned even during his time of office as being an out-of-touch, boring old technocratic fart.

I don't think so. Fortunately they don't ask that type of question when you go to America anymore (I think).

Re: This Euro vote thing (UK)
I've always lived in very safe Labour seats (while I've had the vote) so it's never really mattered.
edit : Obviously it wouldn't have mattered anyway, but you know, it could have pretend mattered.

Re: This Euro vote thing (UK)
if you cant even be bothered to walk down to the voting booth once every few years, you really dont have the right to express any dissatisfaction with the way your life is being run.

I don't have any opportunity to vote, so I'll complain constantly.
