OK the proper new years resolution thread
* "get fit"
- drop from a 32 to a 30 min
- step up from 11 1/2 to 13 stone min
- generally look the shit
That's within the next six months.
Your turn now ...

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
Apart from the fitness stuff in the other thread... hmm
- Drink less. Or at least less than the 70-odd units a week I seem to have been on in recent months
- Adopt a more 'what's the worst that could happen' attitude instead of approaching everything so boringly
- Revise this time
None are seeming overly realistic.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
- Do my dissertation
- Learn how to swallow (lol) a tablet.
- Take less drugs (maybe)
- Pay off one of my loans
- Get a pay rise.
- Do a 5km run at some point this year, and then a 10km.
I have a couple of others which are slightly more personal but can be summarised down to 'write more'.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
Pass all my exams first time and within the top 3 of the 11 of us who started at same time as me.
Have more of a social life with those who I don't work with.
Go to the gym more often.
Get a girlfriend (lol) / clone someone.
More most important: stop feeling sorry for myself and realise life is good.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
1. Give my lifestyle a fitness/health-based overhaul (see my upcoming entry in Nod's fitness thread).
2. Learn to politely tell people that I can't make their wesite for them, much as it pains me to see them go and spend an outrageous amout of money getting some monkey to make something I could do in about 10 minutes. Either that, or stop being such a bloody perfectionist, and give them what the monkey would do, but not charge them for it.
3. Make a conscious effort to improve my sight-singing.
4. Stop turning on lights whenever I enter a room, unless the room is actually dark inside.
5. Keep my room tidy.
6. Put a load of laundry in everytime I have enough to make up a load, rather than when I have filled my laundry basket, laundry bag, and half of my floor, and actually have nothing left to wear.
7. Make an effort to look nice when I leave the house in the morning, rather than opting for the 'just rolled out of bed' look.
8. Stop wimping out of grading because of not being able to organise myself enough to get to instructor and nage no kata courses.
9. Stop posting on forums when I'm supposed to be writing a paper.
I have decided to make an early start on these, by doing the following:
1. Posting in Nod's thread at some point in the next couple of days.
2. Deciding to leave a website until I've actually got time for it.
3. Received from my bro for xmas a book of folk songs for high voice which I will attempt to play and sing despite not knowing them, nor being able to play the piano.
4. Didn't turn the light on in the bathroom 5 mins ago.
5. Tidied it before I left Oxford for Xmas, should be easier to keep it tidy, rather than make and keep it tidy in the new year.
6. Investing in a tumble drier for my house in Oxford so that doing a load of laundry takes less than 5 days.
7. Got highlights. Oh yes, lookin' gooooooood. Having spent 50 quid on getting it done, I am more motivatated to do something other than leave it in a plait all the time.
8. Told people that if my instructor lets me, I'll grade. That's usually enough to make me actually go.
9. Closing this browser window as soon as I've pressed 'post reply'.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
be more motivated to do stuff.
Not bothered about losing weight or bulking up or anything, but I really should eat healthier. Part of this comes down to the motivation to do stuff issue.
Carry on doing well at work. It's all gone well so far, but this year is going to be important so I really need to continue doing well.
Stay happy - The most important one.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
1. Start training again. I've started to feel out-off-shape recently, and even though Im not fat at all, I would like to be more fit.
2. Spend more time reading curiculum.
3. Go out more (to parties and conserts).
4. Atleast make one decent effort in trying to find a girlfriend.
5. To keep GD happy: **** anything female that offers itself.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
- Drink less
- Find a chick who I actually like
- Give more kittens, cookies and fluffy toys to underprivaliged kids.
- Circumnavigate the globe in a dinghy with only a pencil and two rubber bands as a makeshft compass.
- Introduce the concept of humour to several GD denizens
- Molest Kiera Knightly and call her 'Natalie Portman' all the while.
- Eat more babies.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
I've got a big list this year, but to sum it up:
-Get more hobbies/interests that dont involve consumption of shady substances
-Train more
-Get insight into myself, stop acting too for school
-Get a job
-Restart stuff (start to paint again, do more political things, keep in touch with old friends)

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
Go to the dentist, get my teeth sorted and stop the pain. Then go to the dentist regularly and actually take care of my teeth.
Tidy my room and keep it tidy for longer than a week.
Spend less money on beer and drugs.
Get my tattoo finished and a new one done and completed.
Pass my driving test.

Re: OK the proper new years resolution thread
No drinking until my birthday in March. Start training again. Stop playing silly webgames after the summer, good exam results. Take more initiative to do things, in school and sparetime.
Be a nice GI Joe when I go to the military.
