IRC DCC problems on Uni network

I can't send/recieve DCC on IRC on my uni network, anyone have any idea to get around this?

It will probally be the uni's proxy which probally has the DCC ports blocked

due to the way dcc works this isnt gonna be possible..

basically (if i remember rightly) dcc works like this:

you want to dcc someone, you send them a message telling them a port and an ip address, then you bind a socket to that port and await a connection..

then the guy at the other end connects to you and the dcc connection is completed


i might be really wrong tho

true, doesn't work here if me and the other guy is behind a router since the routing problems (my firewall doesn't block the port), if i'm the only one with the router, then it (usually) works
