People who wear scarves indoors, or scarves over jumpers. PS if anyone defends this, its because you're shit.

People who stay in to watch deal or no deal. I had someone say to me they hated having to watch the evening repeat because "someone always spoils it for them by then". What? Unbelievable.

People who dont like fish, but havent actually tried it since they were 12 and their parents served them a bit of mackerel or something. get over it.

Food allergies in general. It was proved recently you're mostly talking bollocks (excluding nut allergies etc). Im talking about stupid allergies - for example, the other day someone moaned at me because i bought burgers for a bbq with onion in them. "Im allergic to onion, it makes me sick". No youre not. Hold on a second, lend me your phone so i can get your mother to bring you up some coco pops straws and orange juice without bits, and a penis.

Censorship in general. The champions league final was great, but it would have been much improved if gabby logan was naked, and we had a live "vagina cam" rather than player cam and all that shit. **** that, dont hog the pussy. Im more offended by bleeped out swearing than by swearing; all you do is draw attention to the shit. Soft porn films? **** off, let people have a decent wank, why moderate it? Get real.

Craig Cash. He's a ****ing dick, but i cant quite work out why

The fat guy from spin city who appears in scrubs every now and again. he's got a face that wouldnt stop absorbing punches, probably even more than morrisey.

Golf jumpers. The ones with the diamonds, and the striped ones. Play golf, or **** off.

Gretna's rise up the leagues being called a fairy tale, when theyve been backed by a rich bastard, rather than a significant number of fans. Its a fairy tale only because its an artificial "rags to riches" story and bandwagon for people to jump on early.

The looming possibility that Brazil will win the world cup which is the only thing for me that could spoil the tournament, considering the plethora of teams capable of winning. (Germany, Italy, Holland, Argentina, Brazil, France, England).

The fact that even i consider England to have a ****ing chance in the world cup is thoroughly depressing. It pains me to say it but they could do it.

The fact that when england probably dont win the world cup, they have so many ready made excuses.

Islam.

The economist. Its remarkably entertaining and informative articles are ruined by the fact its an apologiser for the bourgeosie uber rich capitalists. They published a "rough guide to philanthropy". Oh please, dont force that shit down my throat.

My own weakness of seeing "reduced" labels on food and buying it before considering whether i want it or checking the price. The other day i bought a reduced bashed tin of tesco beans (i normally eat heinz but was in a rush and couldnt be ****ed going back to the aisle). I got home to find it said "reduced from 75p to 49p" - what - 49p for tesco beans - reduced? **** off i got robbed.

I dont particularly like dogs, but I've never had problems with them on public transport - theyve always just sat there silently. If we are going to be banning things from buses/trains, then babies would be a far better place to start. If youre going to take your child on a bus, then you should either be prepared to get off as soon as it starts screaming, or buy some sort of gag/muzzle for it. If you are one of those idiot mothers who just sits there ignoring their baby while it screams, because you once watched a TV show about amateur psychology and think this will help it in the longrun, then you are too stupid to have children and I hope your ovaries get mangled in some tragic accident that prevents you from ever bringing more hellspawn into my world.

This is one of the big ones on your list that I thoroughly agree with. Our society has become such a bunch of consumerist poofs, that people are saying allergic, when actually you just don't like it. And even if you do like them. I like steak for example, but it gives me the shits on occasion. But that doesn't mean I won't eat steak. I like steak. Steak is priveledge for me.

Dogs should be banned, especially as half of their owners don't seem to be able to be responsible for them or control them. Misanthropy in general, in particular people who prefer dogs/cats to other human beings because of severe personality problems they've developed.

White people who want to be/look black, black people who want to be/look white, Asian people who want to be/look white (or black), rich people who want to look poor, poor people who want to look rich, and so on. On a similar vein, it seems odd to me that so many Japanese games have European central characters.

p.s. The Economist is a good publication. It is biased as hell but that is rather the point, and at least it is fairly open about this unlike (for example) the BBC which is under some strange illusion it is being 'impartial'.

p.p.s. With HIGNFY or MMORPG, would you prefer people wrote out the terms in full every time they wanted to refer to these things?

Probably. But it's more to do with it being unnecessarily conscious transformation in a lot of cases. Eminem, for all his various problems, is superior to Tim Westwood since at least the former seems to have spent a sizeable time in Detroit whereas the latter is from Lowestoft. It's not really a notion of expectation, but you could put it in those terms if you really wanted.

I admit that my knowledge of evolutionary psychology is fairly limited, but I would be suprised if there was any evidence suggesting that black people are genetically influenced towards liking baggy pants and gold chains, or that white people have genetic biases in favour of nice suits and khaki's. I would imagine that some white people choose to dress in clothes which have traditionally been associated with blacks because they genuinelly like the way that those clothes look. Similarly, I doubt that black people listen to heavy metal music because they are (sub)consciously trying to gain Whitey points which they can trade in for a big screen TV.

And now as im growing older i'm realising how flawed some of my dad's logic and political orientation is; and how the economist has absolutely brainwashed him. Ie he thinks oil is denominated in dollars because "its just easier that way" and rejects anything else as my lecturers teaching me the world as a "big capitalist conspiracy".

Im not sure about the acronyms. Either shorten them, de-capitalise them, or just use the first/most important words in the sentence.

Babies are a given to be annoying, nod, but unfortunately banning them from buses is more problematic.

and the three kids right now outside my window kicking a ball against a row of garages in the rain, who do such things as cheer themselves "yay" when they hit a 40ft wide target, and shout "Thierry Henry!" as they kick the ball. I get a break every three minutes when the ****wits kick the ball too high and take five minutes walking round to fetch it back.

The fish thing is interesting actually - I've never been keen on seafood. I eat fish if given it, but I'd never choose it in a restaurant. But then, I haven't tried anything more exciting than a piece of cod since I was 11 or so. OK DEFFEH - you've convinced me! Next time I get a chance, I'll sample something more exotic!

It's all the central London houses that are ridiculously built shit.

As for the architecture... well I have no objections with it. I still think other major cities in the world are better than London by a mile.

Purpose built flats (especially anything built in the last twenty years) keep their temperature much better for obvious reasons. There are quite strict rules (Part 'L' of the Building Regulations) on new build and generally anything built now days will have very good ratings in pretty much every area. If it were the capitalists fault then New York wouldnt be the most beautiful city in the world. I suppose its fitting that the capital city sums up the stereotypical modern British attitude of scepticism towards anything innovative//interesting/ambitious/good, and the general veneration of old things simply for being old.

i wouldn't go as far as saying 'London architecture is terrible', but fact is British conservatism doesn't work in it's favour.
on IRC i've explained to you how Renzo Piano had to work his way through the 'skyline-guidelines' when designing the Shard of Glass. (there are certain points in the city that have to stay visable from about every point). London is not the most easy place for creative architects when it's about designing tall buildings; they simply get too little space for playing around.

the city does have some real nice modern, unconvential buildings though. on smaller scale my favourite would be the London Metropolitan University Graduate Centre. on a larger scale i'd nominate the Millenium Dome, for it's rather spectacular construction and use of materials.

the 'older' buildings of the city never really impressed me that much tbh, but maybe that is because neo-classicism never really has been my thing.
