No, the stats are not the only thing that determines how a round plays out. Politics does have an impact, probably one at least as big as the stats do.

Stats has been the key to decide between Xp or Value rounds. Thats not enough. We need balanced rounds, like last one, with value and xp winners, no stagnation, exciting final rounds etc.
This have nothing to do with ultores picking right strat, and doing what they do best, value.
|
I am pretty confident this round has been substantially uneventful due to politics.
In a value round it is more necessary for blocks to form....

I disnt said stats are the only thing.
What i said is value rounds still the main reason for stagnated rounds. U can try point me a xp round that ppl complained about stagnation. Some value whores emos bcoz they cant do the same thung they are used to the past 10 years. But who cares.
And one of many things that determinate the round being xp or value, is stats.
Thats so true, that u can see entire tags playing troll mode based on the stats they see before round start.
Obviously politica have a role. Thats expected.
Just saying stats cant have this high impact on the balance of the round.
We need a way/key to make game balanced.

So because Kheros as a HC of Ult had relations with 4 other tags he sabotaged the round?
Nothing to do with other alliances not forming a counter block to this? hmmmmmmm
If it was as easy that. Either way, good job Kheros then. Extremely good PA biz conducted this round for Ultores.

Yeah from the remaining 6 Stellar and CT wants to do no politics and gal raid. DLR was half a tag signed to idle. ND was semi active, CaRn was semi active and peng signed in to settle grudges by the looks of it.
Yes good job Kheros for stagnating the round before it started and ofc congrats for the easy, yet deserved win. You are a gift to Ultores. 😊

LOL
The whole objective of war is to win. Ult won with their politics. The allies that choose to NAP them (especially the ones who had numbers and should have been aiming to war) are the ones to blame for a stale round.
The guys winning and handing out naps to the allies below are perfectly entitled to do that as they are winning and don't need to be the aggressor to win.
Please Ave should a little dignity here...

While to a certain extent I agree that it is the potential competitors who are to blame I think you underestimate the difficulties politically they have compared to ult's position.
Ult has a big advantage in hoovering up the unambitious alliances which makes for very easy alliance politics - and is why ult has such a good reputation.
By contrast the competitor alliances are left with each other. They don't trust each other. Part of this is based upon experience often going back a very long way. A large part is down to who the HC are. But the biggest part is they they are competitors. They actually need to be looking over their shoulder to what the others are doing as in the unlikely event all three of Carnage/p3n/ND got together and hit ult and were winning there will be big incentives for an alliance to peel off and freeride or even defect if they think they can roidrace ult. If the three won then there would have to be a round of wars involving backstabbing to settle who actually wins the round (with a good chance ult manages to sneak a win while that goes on), the alliances in question's reputation get worse and it becomes more difficult to do again in future.
Added to this diplomatic problem is the disinclination of members to fight ult (p3n this round voted against it, and I'm sure carnage members were of similar mind or their HC would have been more inclined to join a block). This is rational. Most people don't want to spend the round chipping away at targets that defend very well while freeriders do well, everyone wants to be the freerider. And this round everyone tried it. Perhaps the result will encourage people back to trying to stop ult.

Very well written Booji. If p3ng members & Carnage members wanted to hit allies where they would land more then I guess that is fair enough. It is just shame that by doing this a alliance would runaway with the win and the whole round would become stale.

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Well trust is one thing.
This round its just a shame that only ND(who got owned) had ambitions to win, which made politics worse.
"Trust", or the lack of, is usually due to a tags actually usually having ambition to win and deciding not to go for a "no-end" kinda deal.

No, it would be far more accurate to say that each alliance engaged in buck passing in the hope that it would improve their own chances of going for number 1 while minimizing the effort needed. Everyone would far prefer that other alliances take on the burden of taking on the top ally and slip through the middle (essentially what ult did last round). It is usually pretty certain that someone will step up, this time no one did.

Hillarious if alliance HCs actually goes into round with the idea to try "out think" everyone else by doing what one could call what you just wrote here "sneaky pols".
No wonder Ultores and NewDawn has been so dominate.

I dunno why you keep saying ND has dominated... They had like a few good rnds the past like 50 rnds, If you dominate you consistently win, i know its hard for you to grasp what it is to win as an alliance, i will have a long talk with agares, he has a traning alliance, maybe i can talk him into letting you join, they never really go for the win, but atleast you get to learn the game

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Very few alliances has won as many rounds as ND, and fery few alliance has been consistently winning round or even compete over a "short period of time". Winning two rounds running is also a little rare. Its a reason for Ultores choice going into each round lately with the aim to mainly hit ND, its because they are a fierce competitor.
Then again, i did not say that ND has been much better t han everyone else when it comes to sending defence/not crashing/attacking/stuff that normaly decides what alliances does well or not, but because they seemingly do not go into the round with the approach booji explained.
"Lets sit back and hope someone else wins the round for us" or "Our goal is to aim top5".
As much as it could be easier to achieve low goals, and even surpassing your goals when you aim low, sometimes it might stop the alliance to progress further.

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
FROM THE BOTTOM UP, AM SO NOT IMPRESSED... think it will be easy enough to work out who said what below..... lol
WHY ARE THERE (7:6:6) RE: I DON'T BELIEVE YOU ANYMORE Fri, 03 May 12:21:18 Delete
Well, that's what happens when everyone NAPS or allies isn't it, you have effectively removed 5 alliances by this, 5 x 60, a possible 300 targets, and how about that, except for Astatores, all in top 10 ..... there are still others on that leaderboard besides Stellar and you tell me, this seems fair to you? It may not have occurred to you that we still have our goals but instead we have to contend with the greed of the number 1 player and alliance..... weak answer when you have escorts too, by the way.
well maybe Wendy, I am not disagreeing with you.
but who else do I have to attack? I do have to attack someone, last week I hitted CT everyday, they all went mad at me cause I attacked em, now on Stellar.
I could ground till end of round? but the rest of Ult is attacking too
Farming is a more appropriate word don't you think?
yea well you really have to blame our HC team for that.. I am just a peon who just joins the daily raids.
Unfortunately there are only few targets left to hit and it is Stellar atm and only a few of them are in my bash limit
Hitting the same planets everyday.... since when would any alliance be happy about that, especially when they are of no threat to the end of round results.... I am so unimpressed with your allies actions.... is pretty much trying to farm them if you hitting every day.... is not good enough to say because they are on the raids
Wendy,
I understand you are pissed off.. but I am not doing the raids..
We have CT/Stellar/ND on raid.
The only targets I can hit are a few Stellar guys, i am not lying to you and can you show a screenshot from the raid if you really want to.
I just hope this round is over soon as we all getting bored of this..
if you want to have a chat send me a message on TG, so maybe I can explain it better.
Grtz Wolf
THINK YOUR ATTACKS ARE QUITE PATHETIC RIGHT NOW AND YOU ARE GUTLESS WONDERS SINCE OUR ALLY POSES NO THREAT TO YOU GUYS, NOR THE GUYS YOU CONTINUOUSLY (BOLD AND UNDERLINED) BEEN HITTING FOR A FEW DAYS NOW .... GROW SOME BALLS.
AND I HAVE ALWAYS HELD GREAT RESPECT FOR ULT, HAVING HAD 1 GREAT PLAYER BP WITH US FOR A WHILE AND IF WE HAD BEEN SHORT THIS ROUND, WE MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER ONE IN OUR BP.
LUV WENDY XOXOXO

Well, that's what happens when everyone NAPS or allies isn't it, you have effectively removed 5 alliances by this, 5 x 60, a possible 300 targets, and how about that, except for Astatores, all in top 10 ..... there are still others on that leaderboard besides Stellar and you tell me, this seems fair to you? It may not have occurred to you that we still have our goals but instead we have to contend with the greed of the number 1 player and alliance..... weak answer when you have escorts too, by the way.

I did not say you were focussing on Stellar. 3 days.. or is it 4 you been hitting the same target and to a lesser extent one of the other guys, that is 2 people. I said you been FARMING someone, which is exactly what you have been doing.
Think it is all quite obvious since your guy has pretty much stated the same so you tell me.
Reverse the situation and what would you be thinking of the same scenario? You wouldn't be liking it and no doubt huffing and puffing like I am right now.

Wendy, I don't know how long you have played but trust me. I have seen all kinds of "abuse" and been on the receiving end of it.
With our value if we hit anyone we are farming them, thus yeah we understand that its not nice and we try to dance around the targets a bit but that is also limited. In our defense I don't think a tag ever came close to the value/score Ult has. So alot of planets are just orange

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Yeah having 1 allie makes a halo when its CaRn fighting 3 tags. Your logic has zero flaws.
We rarely are the ones causing unbalance, mostly the opposite. We neither sit still if we get constantly blocked on.

So what do you want me to do next time? grounding? go into vac mode?

How dare you insult Wolf like that, implying that any fleet containing fewer than 3k pods could roid him!

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Wendy I really like you but this post is pretty weak regarding Wolf
You need to direct your energy to Dekka.
Make sure he doesn’t allow a runaway alliance again.
If your top planets the only targets wolf and co can get you must prepare for the incomings !

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Norse won,
We won at being the best support tag ultores have ever had.
We even had all their incomings, as the block thought we would be easier, and we won at that.
2nd for norse
We had fun.

Re: Round 81 Drama thread
Since Norse were 5th in terms of incs it is pretty clear that they got nothing like the incs that would have resulted in hitting ult if fighting in a block war.
P3n and Carnage getting 1st and 2nd most incs illustrates how misguided both of their strategies of not fighting ult was.
