geforce 4, tvout and removing the macro thingy

Theres a problem, cause the nv17 graphics chip is really hard to get to remove the macro thing... this means that the comp wont run dvds when the tv-out is turned on. I dont have a dvd player externally so Id really like this to work..
does anyone have any experience with this?
tv-tools doesnt work, cause it doesnt support the nv17 chip..

How about converting the movie to DIVx and playing it then.
I know it's only half a solution but it seems the most viable one.
PLUS you can put your fancy DVD-rips on the net for me to download
