[Football] Newcastle going Mad?
Newcastle playing with 8 men today , because Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer have just been sent off for FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER?
Weird.
(theyre losing 3-0)

So much for anyone who said that
a/ Craig Bellamy was the source of all the trouble
b/ Graeme Souness is a good manager
c/ Graeme Souness has installed discipline in Newcastle
d/ Lee Bowyer has grown up
e/ Kieron Dyer has grown up

Theres the source of your problem. A combined £103,000 a week on two players with bad tempers, loads of natural talent, and ego's the size of a small country.

Celtic were lucky to get nil. It honestly, could have been 4-0 or 5-1 to hearts. Our defence.. from being a scandalously sound and ridiculous outfit that rivalled many of the best in europe and looked watertight in the champions league (at home) and uefa cup, is now mediocre for spl standards. Teams like hearts might actually have better defences than us. They probably do.
Im gutted, but not suprised.
BTW, if you are around other celtic fans, keep a tally of how many blame the celtic performance on "the popes health"
And Bowyer and Dyer's talent is "debateable" at best

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
if parents don't tell their children to take nothing seriously before they go to a football game they're stupid because footballers in the main have little grounding in reality.
ridiculous things happen at the football, always have, people will always mouth off, there will always be punch-ups, and quite frankly wouldn't have it any other way.
Today was just another of those amusing incidents that happen from time to time.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
I've just got back from the match.
Appauling.
First goal, ok, piss poor defending.
Second - Possibly a penalty although I couldn't really see properly from my angle.
Third - No. **** off was that a penalty. The ref cannot give pens out like that if he's going to completely ignore the two penalty claims we had in very close succession at the start of the first half. I can accept that it was obstruction, but obstruction is an indirect free kick, not a penalty.
As for Dyer and Bowyer, they should both be kicked off the team as they add **** all to Newcastle anyway.
****ing Pricks.
I ****ing hate football.

for comedy ++ thats the BBC photos of the incident
EDIT: bowyer looks incredibly pissed off, to be fair, if i didn't know that it was normally his fault, i would say that he has been badly done to this time :/ he looked genuinly upset in the video and the BBC pictures

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
in Bowyer's favour, if Dyer was being such a cnut and not giving me obvious passes i'd think Dyer had some kind of problem with me. Doesn't condone him punching someone though.
As someone on 606 said earlier: at least it proves he cares.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
The Taylor incedent wasnt much better for football either. Sticks his hand out and blocks a goal, then realising hes going to be sent off falls over clutching his chest like someones takea crowbar to his chest. Hand all three of them long bans I say to try and stamp these things out of the game (then again we continually see how gutless football authorities are with the way chelsea keep getting meaningless fines for their complete lack of regard to rules this season)

You picked a really bad example there. Despite what the press may have you believe, this season Chelsea haven't done anything that other clubs and other managers haven't done many times before. The only reason they're publicised is because of some other factor - the "tapping up" of Ashley Cole, or other players, for example, isn't particularly uncommon in the world of football (look at David O'Leary and James Beattie, you don't see cries that Aston Villa are the enemies of football), and Mourinho's criticism of Frisk is something that has been done many times before by managers, and Mourinho just happened to be caught up in a Frisk drama-queen moment (many referees have come out in the period since and said that receiving death threats is nothing unusual for a referee).
Instead of Chelsea, why not cast your eyes towards Spain?
Real Madrid were fined due to racist chanting in their game against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champion's League. They were fined a little under £7,000 - over £2,000 less than the fine given to Mourinho.
Aragones was fined £2000 for his "black shit" remark. £7,000 less than Mourinho.
Atletico Madrid were fined a whole £420 for racist chanting during the Madrid derby.
Just as a comparison, Robert Pires was fined £33,000 recently for wearing a Puma top when he was on television with the French squad, because the French squad are sponsered by Adidas.

I know that Chelsea each of these actions that chelsea have committed on their own isnt worse than anything that has been done elsewhere but together their rap sheet this season is extreamly poor and the problem is they know they can basically get away with it. While a club like Villa might get fined it can atleast be a punishment (im not saying that the Villa fine in this was a punishment to them) where as you fine chelease for anything and its just shrugged as they can afford it, they could probally be slapped with a 10 or 20 mill fine and still not see it hurt them. Punishments need to be staggered more so that it punishs the big cubs without over punishing the smaller one

Their rap sheet? Mourinho twice suggested that the opposing manager might be influencing the referee, they tapped up Ashley Cole, refused to go to a press conference, and, the most damning of all, Mourinho GESTURED AT THE LIVERPOOL FANS.
The only thing I can think of that was a problem on the pitch was the ruckus against a team who I forget. Newcastle? Charlton?
Wowzah. Enemies of football right there.

How exactly would you stagger them? Turnover? Profit? Amount of money lying around?
All of these things punish clubs run as a business disproportionately compared to clubs run by a sugar daddy, and that's precisely the opposite effect to the one you're trying to achieve.

Umm, actually I don't think Taylor was cheating at all.
He didn't deliberately handball it. I think he went to ground like he was shot because he realised that he'd have to be sent off leaving Newcastle with 10 (then 8) men. It probably really really hurt his hand as well. You can imagine him thinking "F*CK" at that precise moment.
You and pig are both quite harsh on the lad.

I seriously believe he wasn't out to pretend it didn't hit his hand. Imagine you're a young defender, you're playing in an important match at an important stage of the season and your hand has accidentally got in the way of the ball on its way into the net. You know you're gonna get sent off, there's nothing you can do and it's not your fault. You'd be a bit upset and probably collapse to the ground too.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
Bowyer's desire to cleanse the world of black people would have inspired him to victory, i think.
Btw, i might have been wrong but, Kieron Dyer threw a punch i thought. He missed entirely, but he still threw one.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
That might have been more in self-defence though seeing as Bowyer went to nut him.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
In the dark, if i was cornered. On a football field in front of 50k witnesses, with 20 people who'd defend me if i was getting a kicking, do your best you overrated shitebag.
I remember the days of "England are really missing Bowyer and Woodgate"

a) Because balls don't hurt when they are hit really soft at your hand. He's not an eight year old girl.

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
a) you can easily break your finger being hit by a ball. It wasn't that soft either. I reckon it stung quite a bit.
b) yeh.
The rolls were a bit over-dramatic though

Re: [Football] Newcastle going Mad?
I'd like to come out in defence of Lee Bowyer.
To be completely fair, there are many many people in the world who would like to kick the ****ing shit out of Dyer because hes such an overhyped, arrogant, talentless little ****.
Lee Bowyer was the first to come out and actually do it!
