Re: what is your favourite soup?
I was pondering the differences between a stew and a soup (the result was not worthy of discussion) when I stumbled upon perhaps a greater mystery...
what's the difference between roasting and baking?
The process for both (afaik) is identical - you put the food into an oven and dry heat does the cooking.
I'd be roasting cakes and baking chickens (if I ever did any cooking).

Roasting usually involves a shitload of black footballers and young barely legal white girl.
Baking is the process of holding a shit in for as long as you can so when its released you get a more pungeont aroma.

Re: what is your favourite soup?
a nice thick cream of chicken is good. However Chicken Noodle soup is equally excellent, and a really good bowl of Scotch Broth is untouchable.

Re: what is your favourite soup?
Bean or Pea soup...
And not the crap in cans in the suparmarket, but the real deal with fresh potatoes, carrots, seleriac, sausage, other meat, leek, and other stuff... so thick that when you put your spoon in it, it keeps standing up.
Mushroom soup is also nice.

It's bean a long time since I've had non-canned soup - I sure would like a pea-s of that!

Re: what is your favourite soup?
There's many soups I like.
In concordance with the other dutchies, I do have to profess my love for both ox tail soup and onion soup. In the latter case I would advise to sprinkle bread with cheese and garlic, then put it in the oven shortly, and serve that alongside the onion soup. Can't get much better than that.
Largely for nostalgic reasons, but also because it tasts pretty damn good, I'll vote for my grandmother's homemade chicken soup though

Re: what is your favourite soup?
There's some form of soup in the ration packs that we're issued.
I can't remember what it is specifically but it's rather nice, in comparison to the other items contained in said pack.

My mother made chinese tomato soup about a week ago. Though it tasted nice, it hurt the back of my throat as if I was eating needles.
