Never heard Rasmus or The Street, but if they sell anything near what 50 Cent does, then the situation can't be that accurate.
Funny though

Although I agree with the musical criticism of The Streets (on the whole) and 50 Cents, I think this was a bit harsh.

50p may claim to have been shot 9 times, but I don't think being shot with cum is anything to boast about really, unless you are an unemployed porno star or something, or maybe a catholic priest.

It was harsh on the rasmus but us ppl need to keep on bottoling these rapstars off the stage. They might take the hint that rap is crap and bugger off somewhere else.

throwing bottles is a bit harsh
I would be 100% behind heckling these three travesties if it was just mud etc.
Still, whatever gets them off stage i guess

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
Remember Suzy Gardner?
She got petled with mud onstage, then said "You throw mud, we throw blood", pulled out her tampon and threw it into the crowd.
Legend.
Also when Daphnie and Celeste went on and got pelted with everything imaginable, retreated to the back of the stage, then went on and sang their second song. Resulting in various bottles of piss being thrown at them.

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
Reading has remained mainly a rock/indie festival - surely 50 cent, with enough common sense, would do some research and realise V festival would have been better suited.
The problem is, the majority of people who follow 50 cent lie in London - ie: South/East London and not further out - if they want a concert, they should go to Wembley - simple as that.

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
A hell of a lot of people at Reading are from London though.
I don't think it's that 50 Cent is non-rock which gave him problem per se, it's just that very few rock people respect him in any shape or form. There are non-rock people who would get more respect I imagine.

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
I think it's kinda harsh as well tbh. Don't like the streets 50cent or the rasmus but don't think someone should have shit thrown at them because of differences in music taste... Although organisers should try and make bands fit in with the audiences they're playin for...
(and btw Sunday8pm I doubt it was the entire 50,000 people throwing things... more like 1/2000 ppl closer to the stage)

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
Dante, the lineup was poor, and while I knew that when buying the ticket I mostly wanted to see Squarepusher who pulled out, as did New Found Glory, but seeing Placebo and Green Day made up for it for me. Watch the festival highlights on BBC, there was plenty of atmosphere for the decent bands. A lot of people felt messed around because the main stage bands got shifted half an hour earlier than the schedule, but that was fine cos I got to see Rahzel beatboxing. It rained on Friday banishing us to a muddy hell but was sunny otherwise. Facilities as crap as ever. People on the campsite were being fairly friendly.

I saw Placebo recently so the only bands I'd really want to have seen would have been the Distillers, Green Day and Reel Big Fish (maybe).

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
Considering the kind of people who generally go to Reading those spaks bottling anything is harsh, they probably had to phone mummy and daddy and check weather it's ok first. Personally it's rather pathetic throwing bottles at people because you dislike the kind of music they play, get a life and don't listern least they're up there doing something
Haha Linkin Park headlined, so hardcore.

Well, at a lot of gigs the crowd throws bottles at the band even if they like them, so I'm not really sure what the fuss is about.

Hahaha, gangsta-wanksta bottled of stage. That's actually quite cool, I ****ing hate that guy.
Oh, and it's okay to throw things at him, beacause he should be hated for more then just music.
And bottles is not harsh. Bricks would be bad.

50 Cents was bottled off because he is at completely the wrong festival. No doubt whoever booked a rapper for a rock festival has now been fired. I missed The Rasmus being bottled off Anybody know how they did at Leeds ?

Why would goths go to Reading?
It's not really their type of music at all.
EDIT - they had Eminem and D12 a few years back. Don't remember them being bottled...

How come that norwegian footie fans manage to behave EVERY TIME they go abroad to watch the national team?
How come people can sell their stories about an affair with someone famous (Becks, Sven Gøran Erikson) for shitloads of money to TV?
England is a sick country isnt it

When was the last time you heard about any serious problems at an English league game? Probably quite a while ago, because their generally isnt any. The problem of English hooligans is blown out of all proportion and unfortunately this sometimes ends up with the foreign police battering English fans that have done nothing wrong, which then gets reported as hooligan behavious by our fans. English football fans and hooligans are 2 separate things. The hooligans go to competitions for the fights, the real football fans dont. I dont think our fans caused any problems in Portugal, but we did have a fan stabbed.

Re: The Streets, 50 Cents and Rasmus all Bottled off stage at Reading
50 pence and the streets are not music, I could make up lyrics for the streets in a few seconds. 50 euros is marginally better but I really hope that rapping starts to become unpopular and it dies out. I hate the stuff. There was one song of 50 dollars that i like and that was "In Da club" and that was only because it had a great backing track. And had the words "Party" and "Birthday" in the same sentance.
Rock is mans music, none of your ladies rap shit like busta rymes (Some stupid name!) and 50 francs.
It was a bit harsh that the rasmus got bottled off because they are rock and there not too bad. But I think that the other 2 getting bottled deserved it for all the (c)rap music they make.

The Rasmus weren't boo'ed off at Leeds, but they didn't get a round of applause either. 28 pence was the same, except with more bottles. They decided to throw water at the crowd but after a while they got the idea and just accepted defeat.
Oh, and I take it everyone got very tired of the gun-shout sound effects very quickly. I know I did.

Oh, and I take it everyone got very tired of the gun-shout sound effects very quickly. I know I did.

You rarely hear about it but it is still there, it's on nowhere near the scale it was but it is there just more underground. Speaking as a Cardiff fan there was serious (mass) disorder at three away games last year (West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United) and there was less serious disorder at a good few more. I'd be pretty confident saying that every week there's usually major disorder at least one ground, it's just very rare you'll hear about it unless you either go to games with more hardcore fans or you sit/stand in certain sections of grounds where the prawn sandwich crew is yet to infiltrate.
The thing that irked me about bands getting bottled is the people are doing it are doing it because they dislike a way certain bands dress or act or what they sing about most of them like to preach how alternative they are that they don't judge people because they're different, yet there they all are lobbing bottles at a genre of music that's different to what they like, nice going. In my view makes them just as bad as anyone who judges them by how they dress and act. The thing is they're just the same as them, they all turn up at gigs and snear at people because they're not wearing what ever shit they've dubbed hardcore this week, they could do everyone a favour by ****ing back off to the mainstream where they belong instead of pretending that they're something different.
Also I'd have quite liked to gone to Reading for the line-up which I thought was pretty impressive, especially with Bouncing Souls and Dropkick Murphys there neither of which I’ve seen, I just wasn't willing to put up with the "IN AWAY FROM MUMMSY AND DADDY FOR THE WEEKEND LOOK AT WHAT A REBEL I AM, LINKIN PARK ROCK !!!" spastics who throw bottles at bands.

Nobody gets interview on TV for 1.3mill punds (or what the secretary that did Erikson got), and then go telling about that she's a blowjob specialist.... I never heard about anything similar, in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Germany, Poland.. etc etc.
These stuff doesnt reach further than our version of the Sun (we call em "weekly-magazines" here). And still in a "edited" version, like "famous person X has been left by his wife".
