Galaxy Status Screen

My suggestion is simple. Have some sort of sign, to indicate new incomming for that tick.

What I do right now is just take a screenshot and slowly go through the galaxy status for a new tick. It is a real pain in the butt to take 4 screenshots after your galaxy screen is littered with red and green, not to mention the time it takes to see what is old and what is new.

Yes, I know I can also just open a new window/tab with the galaxy status screen a few minutes before the tick, and go through it that way, as well as other ways I'm sure.

This way, it is 100x easier to find the new incomming on your galaxy, and make reporting that incomming 100x faster.

Some sign like how * denotes your own planet, just as an example.

Re: Galaxy Status Screen

I like this idea, but a better way to do it imo would be to have another column between eta & scans that shows the tick when the inc first appeared.

I'd rather see a column with Landing Tick than tick it first appeared.

That doesn't help you spot out the new incomming from the old ones though. Why see tick landing, it's easy to get galaxy defence eta right. . 5+??? if you want to pre-launch.

If you put landing tick, then it doesn't matter when it was posted, they know when it has to be there.

The whole point is to allow easier reporting of NEW incomming to the galaxy when you have multiple waves on your galaxy, and possibly you are the only one awake reporting new incomming at the time.

ETA does well enough to organise defence.

Landing tick is alot easier to see than the tick in which the inc first appeared, if you want a landing tick then simply check what tick it is now, check what eta it is and add the both numbers. It's simple math.
And it does matter when it appeared caus that's usually a first sign of what shiptype you're dealing with and what def needs to be send
Figuring out the tick the inc first appeared in is another matter that isn't so easily solved. Either the person that's recieving inc has to be awake to tell you the inc it appeared in, or you have to newsscan him, but newsscans are 4 ticks late so most of the time when you can get a newsscan and check what tick it appeared it's usually to late to def it anyway.

A simple solution would be then to add 2 colums, one for tick it showed up, and one for landing tick. The reason for the landing tick is that even simple math can be done incorrectly.

Well, that is too noob friendly. Again, this should reward the active people. Same argument that was going on with the queue system for the construction/research.

If you show a column for tick it appeared, and the tick it lands, that is giving away too much information. That is rewarding those that aren't active by giving them the ability to figure out what eta it showed up. Sure you can figure out by unit scans/ship amount alone.

Re: Galaxy Status Screen

Showing what tick the incoming was launched poses a problem as there are various age-old tactics that would be made impossible.

1) If no-one's online to report incoming when it first arrives, that gives the attacker an advantage. This in my eyes has generally been a good thing since it's made the mechanics of attacking easier (thus slowing down the rate of stagnation).

2) There's also a tactic when you send one fleet eta 8/9, and then recall it and send a new one eta 7/8. This only works if a gal member reports the incoming and not the planet in question - but that's usually the case anyway. The idea is that in your second fleet, you send a different class of pods - and as a bonus, send ships of the same class that will kill the ships that would defend the first fleet.

Of course, you change your fleet names at the time of recalling/sending
