This teenager got 26 years for dealing marijuhana! This really is sick!
What are your thoughts on this?

Maybe not, but 26 years! Grumble, if we two got 50 kg off heroine and sold it to our grannies, we would "only" get 21 years...this guy got 26, and he sold weed 4 times to a undercover!

My post was actually a cutting satire on the drugs culture, and GD in particular!
Nah, it was spam.

When did people start respecting you Snurx, as opposed to just rolling their eyes and waving you off as a "gimmick"?

Also, 26 years is far too much.

Not that I'm justifying insane sentencing rules, but he had already committed two other crimes (although I have no idea what)
The man in this example was a first-offender I thought. It's totally insane obviously.
It wouldn't be so bad, but obviously prisons can be so horrific that you can effectively write off the rest of your life if you go in.
In one example I read about, a man had been imprisoned for a non-violent drugs offence (probably dealing but possibly just posession). He was then released and while on parole he had written a bad cheque - and was so reimprisoned. Upon reimprisonment he was attacked by a gang inside and was repeatedly raped. The authorities did nothing.
"Citibank - write a bad cheque and we'll have you gang-raped." could be the new crime prevention slogan.

I've always said "If you want to break the law then don't get ****ing caught."
It seems a sensible piece of advice.

ps
it is even more fun when doctors (again in California!) prescribe marijauna in accordance with california statutes and the feds pop in and put the 50-60 year old doc in for 20-30 because having that much marijuana autmatically counts someone as a dealer by [i]federal[i] law.
apparently there is a part of the constitution that overrides state law for that.

Yes. Freedom is a good thing.
People who forcibly inject drugs into other peoples veins against their will should be punished in the full accordance of the law.
