The Streets - A grand don't come for free
When I first heard that shitty album "Original Pirate Material", I wanted to shoot whoever had decided it could actually be allowed to be released as an album that people could buy in the shops or download. I mean, wank, shit, awful, poor, disgraceful are all ways to describe that album.
This new effort however, specifically the two songs off the album I've seen on the music channels, 'Fit but don't you know it' and 'Dry your eyes mate', I think are really really good, and I might even decide to aquire the album to see what the rest of it's like.
Have any of you heard it, and it is more like the first album, or will it end up on my list of bands that I hate, but like one or two songs?

Re: The Streets - A grand don't come for free
I'm not a fan of this type of music, but I downloaded the album anyway.
Very little of it is like "Fit But You Know It" (which I sort of liked). It wasn't very good imho. Apparently the story arc going through the album is "genius" but I couldn't see it.
Certainly don't buy it without listening to it first.

Is this some sort of poor rip-off of Dire Straits - Money for Nothing?

Re: The Streets - A grand don't come for free
I have the album and I quite like it, although as Dante said, none of the others really sound like 'Fit But You Know it', and also none of the others sound like DYE.

i firmly believe that it is a really good album, as dante said, the story arc running through it is really good, and you will keep hearing details that you have missed every time you listen
dry your eyes mate is one of my favourite songs at the moment

Dry your eyes mate, I know it's hard to take. But as I said before like, there's plenty more games in Group B
