i25 Bank Holiday Weekend
As posted by Basher (I am too lazy to retype it).
August bank holiday weekend (26-29 August) is i25. It is held at Newbury racecourse and is mainly a large LAN party (900+ people expected to be on the LAN for it - http://www.multiplay.co.uk/i25/), however, there are other things at the i-event:
I personally first went at i10, and I have been to probably half of the i-events since, I have never once taken a computer, and have spent a grand total of less than an hour sat at a computer during the whole time I have been there. Now, half of these is approx 8 i-events at 2-3 days each, so you may ask, what the hell did I spend those 16 days doing if less than an hour was spent at a computer?! The answer is simple:
Drinking and socialising.
The i-events are great fun, the PA people who go (there is a regular crowd: Basher, Kloopy, A2, DEATH2, Forest, RealJames, Fork, Mendosa, occasionally Minty, Ice-Lady (doubt she'll be going back again) and a huge number of others who often turn up) tend to take over our own area of the grounds to camp in (there are hotels around, but a tent is the way to go) away from all the dirty CS players, and we have barbecues, games of whatever, general socialising, car chases involving Forest running and Minty hanging out the passenger window trying to squirt him with a watergun (ok, this only happened once, but the chants of "Run Forest! Run!" made it even more hilarious), pushing Forest home in a trolley cos we're too pissed to know better and he's too pissed to say no (ok, this only happened once too, but was still hilarious) and lots to drink. We occasionally 'hit the town' too, though we don't tend to remember much of that the next day, though what we do remember is always great fun. There is no need at all to go inside where the computers and geeks are, there are showers there (including the ones the jockeys use, they are great as it's like standing under a waterfall) and toilets etc. all in a different place to the computer stuff. There is a bar, burger van and all sorts. Of course, you can take a computer if you want, but most of us tend not to, and we never get bored. The supermarket is also just round the corner for booze stocks, and always seems to have promotions running when we're there.
All in all, it is great fun, and everyone involved has a great time and comes back. It is a good way to meet everyone as there is no organising involved. It is easy to get to (car: 1.5 hours from both London and Birmingham, 30 mins from Southampton and Oxford and easy to get to by train too). Any of you who fancy having a meet up, there'll be plenty of us there I imagine.
It really is great fun.
Confirmed:
Forest, Basher, Holyboy, RealJames, Fork, genclay, yeggstry, TechnicolorYawn, Bouncytigger, Spod, fanny, Sven
Possible:
Game, Mendosa, Idler, Cypher

No need to ask.
"Being a complete faggot"
is the answer.

I guess you'll find out who we are when you get there :P
Basically, RealJames, Fork, genclay, TechnicolorYawn, fanny, Sven are all members of the original MISTU community (before James used the name and made it an alliance).
Bounytigger=TechnicolorYawn's partner
Spod=fanny's partner
Yeggstry (me)=genclay's partner
Spod, fanny and I know each other from old-school ViruS
Us three have been dragged along on numerous occasions (Actually my first i event was i10, where I met Bashar/A2 and others, but that aint the point :P).
We chickened out on the other i events since the last august one due to being too busy/not enough money.
And Forest delights in constantly pissing me off at any i-event I'm at when he's there....
As for Holyboy, I have no idea either, but I'm sure I'll meet him in 3 weeks time
(P.S I'm going mad, I'm posting on PA forums again :|)

Re: i25 Bank Holiday Weekend
The i-events are pretty good on the whole. We've had a couple of incidents but nothing that's left a permanent scare (actually, that's not true, but never mind). We generally pitch our tents, BBQ, drink beer, terrorise 15 yo CSers, go on the razz in Newbury (me, gf, Fork, Bashar and Fork taking on the locals at killer for money pwned), play far too much PG (must find out if that will be there), drink more beer, BBQ again, drive silly things like trollies and on the whole have a good time.
Oh, and on top of that, it's my birthday!

Re: i25 Bank Holiday Weekend
I have considered going to i events in the past (back when I actually played PA and had friends who played PA). Unfortunately they always seem to be held on sodding bank holidays. Not much use when you live in a tourist town and work in a restaurant. Damned inconsiderate actually.

I guess the responses show why, despite not being game-related, this thread is always better-received on the game forums.

Re: i25 Bank Holiday Weekend
RJ, for the sake of all that is holy, look, yes, given chance, I would probably hit you, i'm an angry sort of guy, I do that kind of stuff for a laugh when i'm bored. HOWEVER, once again you have brought stuff to this board that you just shouldn't. I hadn't noticed that you had posted to be fair, I was drunk when I posted originally and wanted someone to question me so I could go off in a 'hilarious' tangent about nerds and geeks. Instead, I got you.
Please, do **** off from GD, and don't try to bring your shit here, no one cares
you might think that the sun shines out of your arse, but it doesn't.
go away, please don't return.

Yeggstry was the subject of the best post in the history of this internet forum, how can you possibly not have heard of him.
Hello, supergemz here, or gemzie, or gemz :P
Well I have had quite a few relationships online, in fact I would say most of my relationships are from the Internet. I didn't even meet half of them :S Some lasted a few hours, which was pathetic, and others lasted up to a month. My most memerable relationships was some1 called Biya from GLX \o/ he was a nice guy, we always talked. But I only saw 1 pic of him hehee, and I never met him. Also there was PyRo`, we lasted 5 - 6 months, lived 350 miles away but managed to see each other a grand total of 3 times (!) cos I had money :P But the last time we met each other didn't go well imo and things went downhill from there
Anyway that was general trend of how I have lived my life of relationships for the past few years. You may think it is a load of rubbish but it isn't! Cos...
Atm my current b/f is Yeggstry He is a VERY nice guy.... I met him irl at the start of march at a Planetarion meet, in Hitchin (which was 2 days). We had no intention of "Hitchin up" or such, cos in fact I was after Kloopy, but that's a different story!.. but anyway at around 2 am in the morning we started playing truth or dare with Wonkey and Cheeky... that was fun Well it got to the point where I subtly hinted Cheeky to make meh kiss Yeggy as a dare :P which wasn't really a dare to me at the time cos I had it in my head that I just wanted to kiss him Well I kissed him, and then my next dare ended up using tongues, then after that... I done a few other things to him which I wont say here! heh, but a few hours later we got a few hours "rest" but ended up snogging for hours. It was really really nice.... just huggling him at the early hours of the morning. We decided to meet up a week later, so he came to Kettering, we had a great day together! And it was from then we started going out! We next met up at i15... which was a fun few days..!

yes, RJ DID start this (oh, and look, his internet friends are getting involved again as he can't win an argument by himself, there's a surprise) I can't really make it any clearer MY INITIAL POST HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM, I DIDN'T SEE HIS POST WHEN I MADE MY POST IF I HAD I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE POSTED AS I KNOW OF OLD THAT HE WOULD TAKE IT AS A PERSONAL AFFRONT FOR ME TO BE IN THE SAME THREAD AS HIM AS HE IS A COCK
there, can i make it any clearer? cos personally, i don't think i can really...

Re: i25 Bank Holiday Weekend
Agreed Tom (how is ChipZ btw? Long time no see either of u.) This is nearly as bad as the kiddy arguments on AD. I am therefore making this post from an entirely neutral point of view as if I sided with one of the corners the other would just flame back and I feel that completely non constructive. Let bygones be bygones imo.
Its now a week away and am really looking forward to seeing various peeps again. Have got the throw away BBQ's, tent, sleeping back etc... all together for next weekends trials and tribulations. Will get the food at Sainsburys in Newbury on the way to the racecourse so its fresh. Come along if you are able. I always end up getting too much stuff so pop along for a bit of BBQ food or a beer.
Kind Regards,
Simon (Fork)

On topic, genclay and I had a great time meeting up with old m8s and meeting a few new ones at i25
General piss up on friday was followed on saturday with a day of "relaxation" which was turned into an inspired cricket knock-up with a proper ball/bat (lets just say that we all ached after that) and a little footie match with a nice Barbeque from chef Sven at half -time. A trip to the nearby steam fair in the evening resulted in a lot of bruised legs from the dogems
And what could better on Sunday then going to a local Pub, watching the cricket/football, playing pool and getting tightly slipsy Our spirits weren't dampened even after Mendosa jumped in the canal from the pub's balcony and we were all kicked out
A tiring weekend, but I think I speak for everyone that it was great fun and it would be great to do it again soon
