Hello!

Orbit is continuing its long march to the top this round and aiming for 10th place or higher (ok higher is optimistic but who knows what will happen)

Last round Orbit started slowly but grew at a steady rate under the gentle tutorage of the new HC's Masta_Mark(me) and Crowly, and the old hands of ShiningYoshi and Magistar. We started the round with few "experienced" players and many new and returning players, we molded these along with new recruits into a competant alliance. Two thirds of the way through the round we started war with Insurrection and Myth, we beat both these off and grew exponentially and also clashed swords with Howling Rain aswell. At the end of the round we finished 13th above Howling Rain and below ROCK.

Orbit offers a very dedicated Command team who are on IRC ready to help at a moments notice, just drop one of us a pm and we are sure to help.
We attack regually with at least 1 gal raid per night, last round we also did attacks on alliances. We offer to help anyone who can not find a target in the designated target/s and if we cant then we will try to team you up with another person and if we cant for some reason manage that then we will help you find a target of your own. Solo attacks are not allowed as it damages the alliance, unfocused attacks very rarely work and slow the growth of the alliance and damages everyone else.

For defence, we have a defence bot which incomings can be reported too and then seen by the members as to what defence is needed, usually there will be someone there to organise defence for you and will get the scans needed and will use bcalcs to make sure.

Anybody is welcome to join is aslong as you have comman sense and can understand that sometimes whats best for you isnt whats best for the allaince, and the allaince is what matters. We at Orbit strive for ORBITS success and through that OUR success.

One of the great advantages to Orbit is the flexibility afforded to members through a hardworking and driven command team, we always do our best to make sure the individual needs of members are met.

Last round I remember hauling myself out of bed at 5.30am more than once to ensure a Slovenian player who worked early could get the jgps he needed (a shout out to supergans, who I begged for scans several times) and we extend this courtesy to all players who join our tag.

This round we are aiming to take our experiences from last round and force our way into the top 10, having finally acquired and retained a solid core of good and commited players.

Orbit is an alliance whose strength lies in the diversity of it's playerbase, from casual to hardcore, from people who are seemingly addicted (I swear, I'm not, I just don't need sleep) to people who play casually and still manage to beat me (you bastard, Masta) we have a place for anyone who's looking to play the game for enjoyment and success, rather than being driven totally by achievement.

Sorry to throw a dampener on things, but let's see if Orbit can hold that top 10 spot with a number of high-average-score alliances coming up behind them (xVx, Ascendancy). Hopefully they can.

My understanding of Ascendancy was that they dont target those unless they're right at the top or right at the bottom...Vgn and Peniz better watch out

Guess it depends where Ascendancy feel like being this round, first or last ;D.

Surely the same can be said of F-crew, given that we have a higher average than them?

Less members though and our average is hurt by a few tiny people we are training I am not that worried.

I think what Cm was trying to say was that your at a point where you haven't really had the effect of the recruitment limitations of being over 60 members to make a real impact on your average. When your under 60 members you can balance your average drops off somewhat. When you hit 60 you members you only have the option of recruit people who drop your average.

Also until we recruited someone else and you kicked someone who was below your average our score our average was higher. In theory our average will only take 2 further drops, where as you could see yours dropped 10 times so it will no doubt balance out

Hardly an assumption as I didn't say you hadn't been effected by it but that you hadn't had it really effect your average yet. At this moment in time that's what you call a fact, as i said though this will probably change and your average will no doubt fall further down the line as your recruit well below your average

I see the "new" orbit as one of the up and coming alliances of the game. But I also think that Orbit is at a crossroad where they have to decide whether they want to be an alliance for actives only, or if they want to keep the dead meat. Good luck to Orbit anyways.

I would be rather surprised if Orbit doesn't finish in the t10 this round, even if Crowly does think I'm an ass...but then again that was 5 rounds ago.
