[Declined] Extra MoW Ability

A planet in your galaxy has incoming! message has made me look at my gal status so many times when the only incs are actully covered.

My suggestion is give the mow an option to say incoming covered (say a tick box and confirm on gal status) and get rid of that message so you dont have to sit there for 10 hours with that message up when the incoming is covered.


It would just mean that if that incoming is covered someone could confirm it and no stupid red text for 10 hours..

Intresting suggestion. I can see in-gal different alliances abusign this (if one side of a war is MoW and the gal member is on opposite side).

But overall I like the idea.

Its not even the abuse factor but the error factor. What happens it is covered but someone cant then send or has to pull defence and it isnt updated? In the less IRC active galaxies this would certainly be a problem

what about if the planet in question ticks the box? rather than the MoW...

Even then it has the human error problem. They go away for a tick due to some RL commitment thinking they were covered. Come back to find they arent because someone couldnt send and no-one else sent in their place because it was covered.

As for the incoming being missed as people assume its the incoming they have already seen, perhaps a better option would be to have two lines for incoming,. Top line in read would be "Incoming thats new since last tick or login" and other would be "old incoming that you have checked already" in orange

Yeah. I think we should make it impossible to make mistakes.

I agree that there is too much room for error.....good in theory
but bad practically

Declining this becuase of the potential problems, some of the ideas may be revisted in the future though.
