Heterosexism
I'm just reading an article here by a gay woman about working with lesbian and gay groups in a community.
Do you think asking a woman if she's got a boyfriend or a husband counts as heterosexism?

If I ask someone whether they've got a dog that doesn't mean i'm racist against cats.

Possibly, but it's only wrong to be discriminatory if it's against a minority group

Incorrect.
If you get refused from a restaurant because you aren't black, that's as much discrimination as it is the other way around.

Yeah, but few people care about that kind of discrimination. :/

it's a good question, but not an easy one to answer if you don't want to oversimplify.
in this moment i choose that.
Anything that makes you feel bad IS bad.
If I ask a woman if she has got a girlfriend and she is insulted, then it was a bad thing.
Obviously the same thing goes both ways

Godwin's Law prov. [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. However there is also a widely- recognized codicil that any intentional triggering of Godwin's Law in order to invoke its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful.

If a homosexual is offended by the assumption that he/she is heterosexual, this stereotyping can be considered sexism, kind of, more like sexual-orientation-ism. But really, that's just silly.
