Popping Your Ears
Just returned from Dublin on a plane.

My ears are driving me insane, any way of popping them quickly?

I am doing the usual holding my nose and blowing trick...

I use the hard thing in the middle of my thumb (While holding the end of the thumb inside the palm) and press it against the thing that's sticking out to protect the entry to the ear, untill i hear this strange sound, and release it. It works! One bad side-effect is the constant ringing i've had in my ear since i did it the first time (About 6 years ago), but that could have been several things.

This "holding nose...." is a farse. I did that and now my ears will pop by themselves, sponeously, until I hold my nose and etc. it kind of addicted them to this behaviour. Everynight before taking a nap I MUST do that or they will pop all the time i Inspire. It sucks. If I could, I would never begin with this holding nose shit. Its a warning.

all of these are tried and tested methods. ever since i went diving ive had a problem with pressure in my ears when flying. I have no clue as to why but its far more dificult to equalise them. However when flying with a cold i went close to deaf for several hours and only really regained my entire hearing after 2 days when i had this almighty sneeze which unblocked them.

p.s. never fly with a cold. its so painful you wouldnt believe.
