to my knowledge, the formula has remained the same as last round.

Pardon legolas, i think you are wrong here or the creators.

R8 stealing was supposed to be by armor.
R9 stealing is supposed to be by ressources.

Atleast that what spinner says and said.

There are 2 changes to the formula that I know of:

1. Resources rather than armour
2. Change to the rounding (I don't know much more about that in the way of details)

Well according to spinner it was resources r8, so no change there.

Prince posted there was a change to the capping this round, so if it's a rounding change, what is it?

If it's something else, well it would really be good to know. People are picking races here, and making bcalcs.

Round 8 stealing was resources. There has been alot of controversy about this, but it was written into the code as resources.

there was a change (as per my post) behind the scenes
in basic terms that i grasped :P
The Formula was made more efficent (may not sound alot but it makes them equal with the other races on strengh)

But that the stealing is by resources, what does that mean...
Do the ship steal other ships, or do they steal roids? Or do they maybe steal both ?

It is a long time since I last played Planetarion, and want to find out a bit more about it before I start playing again

Stealing ships steal other ships (instead of killing them).
The "downside" is that a stealer will itself die, when it has captured its equal value in resources (or if its killed by another ship of course...).
If there was a proper combat section to the manual, an explanation would no doubt be in it....

mhh i played ziks in r9 beta.. and first.. mhh dunno i thought they dont make sense and wont do thier job (-> gettin roids an power

)
But later on... it was very funny, when someone attacked me and after battle i had more ships then before and the enemy got ass kicked

I like this race.. cute lil bastads
