Well where to start,

Planetarion is still not up and ticking.
At this point I can confirm that it ticked twice while jpaweb01 was down.

People have been asking me all day and so I will give an update as to status

We have been unable to contact fudge or mrbrick all day, and the ticks were eventually stopped by spinner (who thankfully had notice the problems)

Upon stopping the tickers, we merely had to wait for jolt to reboot the server, this has now been done

However we are left with the awkward situation, or either carrying on or rolling back
The first leaves you lot extremely unhappy for obvious reasons,
But the later requires fudge to be available and perform a rollback.
As you know from previous times, this often results in bugs and results in pa being down for up to 2 days.

So as the round was due to end within the next 2 weeks, the next question would be - is it worth it.

So the decision is up to you, please vote in this thread - and give your opinions,

Bearing in mind the consequences of any decision, and unfortunately I still cannot guarantee the outcome as it all relies on an admin being able to perform the rollback

Although I'd vote to end it now, I would suggest that the "final" rankings would be as of the tick that the access stopped. That's the last chance people had to actually make decisions about the welfare of their planet.

SInce we have no idea if or when round 11 will start I say we keep playing.......and since we can't get anyone (FUDGE) to do a roll back lets get playing (not to mention how buggy that will be)....Everyone that lost ships can recover. Besides all the down time and the Fang fiasco has pretty much buggered this round.

With no round 11 in sight I say we make the very best of this round.

On behalf of every member of hirr I beg you.
We have members who paid for this round, who from start knew they wouldnt play long, and who has been playing/quitting for one single purpose and that is to set all the ships they can muster and let them all crash on some big mofo we dont like, together. It is the event of the round for all of us and we were ripped off when r8 got a sudden end. You can call it whatever you want, but fact remains, we all PAID, confident that we would get the chance to do this together. It is not to exaggurate when I say that 99% of us aim for this day, play completely for this day, and would be seriously ****ing pissed off if you shut the round down now.

Yes this is a 100% serious post.

Whether it ends now or in 2 weeks, I don´t care much about, but there are closed planets, whose cases should be resolved before a final ranking is taken.

Is it 3 or 4 planets in the top10 alone ?

I say: end it. It will only bring more missury with more r10 ticks. Save what players are left, end it now and prepare for a r11 (if there will be one /me looks at mit with cute brown eyes)

I would agree with dabult, lots of people probably want that ending that is expected. Also if you want the round to end then obviously you don't like playing planetarion at the moment. Most of you have said this round has screwed up way too much anyway, so if you want the round to end...end it yourselves by quitting now and come back in Round 11 and let us idiots who want to keep playing this round, kill your planets ships and take your planets roids. You will still get your havoc, you'll just have to wait an extra week or two.(like expected)

PA went down at 6:xx or 7:xx GMT (I was up when it happened)
Now I have incomings eta 4 with no defense ofc. calc it, it's 3 ticks not 2!

go back to before access was removed announce game end (to let hirr climb that cliff) delete closed planets for final rankings and then finish the rd

I dont like whats left of the current round, but I cant quit, as a HC I got certain responsibility for my alliance.

I dont enjoy it either atm, infact i have been begging for a end-round date for weeks in various places. But just like you I need to do whats best for my members, so tell me, did you vote for yourself or for your alliance?

I did vote for myself, I belive everyone in Dragons are entiteled to their own opinion, however I do belive its for the best for all partys that the round ends..

I have checked my logs, game went down at 07:37 CEST so that is 06:37 gmt.
it ticked 3 times not 2 I'm absolutely sure of that

Your fault for not having done it in the first 2000 ticks of the game. Geez. End this. The final rankings are pretty much set anyway. Have the final rankings be before downtime, and end the thing so we can enjoy christmas.

You can't end the round at zero notice

To all those people who voted for that option you're free to f**k off whenever you like but don't spoil it for the rest of us. You need at least a week's notice before the end of the round or it just isn't the same.

How can it be our fault when no date has been annouced?

The thing is not to pick a random day during the round, the thing is to pick a day close to the end when idling has overtaken everywhere.

Well, it has been well known that the round end was coming. And idleness has set in. As I said, your fault for waiting until now. Attack now, if the guy rebuilds, attack again. That's how the game works. End this.

Well I don't play for rankings, I just play to play the game, and I did pay for it. My vote would be to just run the ticker, call it havoc and set winners from before down time if thats needed for the top 10's to feel smug in their success or whatever. But there are still a 1000 or so of us just playing for fun and our alliances. If you had a rd 11 setup with a start date and a beta testing period in the near future that would be one thing, but if rd 11 is more then a month or 2 away then I think letting us play on is best even if you do set rankings winners now.

Just my opinion, but I would rather play broken buggy PA then no PA at all, after all isn't that what we have all been doing for the past 3 years?

A few things for the people who make the decision to think about:

Ending now would be a terrible PR disaster for PA. Giving up on round 8, round 9 only being half a round, Round 9.5 going to plan and then round 10 falling apart gives the game an abyssmal 1 in 4 record of actually giving people the game they paid for.

I've seen no signs of round 11 even beginning testing, let alone being ready to play, and the same goes for the 'ladders' thing that was mentioned.

Here's my proposal:

1) Keep round 10 ticking until round 11 is ready to start signups, than have havoc until round 11 is a day away from tick start. Sure, lots of people have quit, but the round is a long way from stagnant (after all , the #1 alliance just fell apart!) and we've not really seen any of the new end game tactics that the 6k roid people need to invent to battle against each other.

2) Until round 11 is ready for public betas, use the beta servers for free speedgames, to keep the players who have given up on round 10 interested, and to publicise the game.

I personally want the round to end, but a voted for a roll back. Firstly becuase there are still some rankings battles to be fought out, and secondly becuase I want to see where a certain 40 planets actually end up in a few ticks - it will probably be ely, but who knows. I have been waiting for 3 days to find out.

I wasnt sure if we should end or go but , the more i think about this round and all the issues surrounding Pa.
I think it would be int he best intrest of the game to end it now. Everyone take the Holiday off , re group and start fresh for the new year. With out worrying if you going to wake up dead or not due to the game stopping, starting bugs, Dossed or what ever else could possibly happen with in the next two weeks.

OH and just make sure when you do bring it back make sure the delte option is added so we have even less probs next round :reindeer:
