I don't associate the national anthem of Germany with Hitler, I associate it with Germany.
Plus, the music's the same as a hymn's.

I thought it was originally written at the time of Germany's formation as a country, when it was meant to persuade people to give up their internal struggles and be a part of Germany? ('Germany above all')

our national anthem is the 3rd verse of the 'deutschlandlied'. that 'deutschland deutschland über alles' is the first one, thats why they sound the same, they are part of the same song.
(just in case anyone cares, but i doubt it
