Stats discussion post R62

It would be fun to read what the other alliance had written down when they broke down the stats prior to tick start.
ill post the stats breakdown from BowS. This was written before the EMP efficiency was increased and the final edit of the stats.

---

I will go through them here from my view:

--------------------------------------

FI:

xan/ter/etd can basicly roid everything due to the broker being effective.
They will have problems roiding into FR/DE heavy gals, just due to perhaps they might outflack the broker.

Ways to "stop" FI:

CAT/ETD DE forts - Unlikely there will be many
ZIK/XAN/TER FR forts - Unlikely there will be many

Weaknesses:

The obvious one would be getting FI incs in return, with these stats thats the major issue.
Its very weak against cruisers.
Its very weak vs FR/DE incs.

Strengths:

Fast starters, they will dominate in the start.
Decent vs everything else, except FR/DE/CR(wich i dont think will happend too much).
Good race spread, covers 3 races.
Cath/Zik can cov-op pods(there will prolly be A LOT FI early on), wich means we could have all races in one roiding class.

suggested fleet builds:

Xan:
30% Phantom
20% Banshee
25% Vsharrak
15% Reaper
10% Apparition

Ter:

--------------------------------------

CO:

cat/zik CO is prolly what i belive to be the weakest option this round.
They will have issue all over the place, zik being slow inited and cath only freezing will be at risk at being faked more this round since all races have 3 pod classes.

Weaknesses:

Everything. Cath EFF is at the lowest in maybe 20 rounds, atleast to my memory.
If big parts of the univers goes FI(very likely with these stats), they are totaly screwed.

Strengths:

Fast starters.
A lot of zik/cat lovers in BowS.

--------------------------------------

FR:

zik/ter/xan FR will somewhat be playable, but i dont recommend us going for this.
They will need to be in forts to make it somewhat doable, and even then they will have issue when BS comes around.

Weaknesses:

BS incommings.
Fort dependency.

Strengths:

Good race spread.
Good vs FI incs.
Buccs very good vs CR incs.

--------------------------------------

DE:

cat/etd DE is perhaps the best solution vs a FI heavy univers.
Its not a very fort dependant strat to go, and it will be good vs most other strats. Perhaps this rounds jack of all trades?

Weaknesses:

EMP efficient is very low this round, and its dependant on EMP to survive.
Zik/Cat CO will be very hard to stop as a DE alliance.
Gets bullied by CR/BS allies

Strengths:

Very good vs FI with the correct build.
Can be very very very strong early on, and if we could keep our value higher than everyone elses we would do good.

--------------------------------------

CR:

zik/cat/xan CR is perhaps the option i dont want to go for at all, even though its not much weaker than FR/DE on paper.

Weaknesses:

Rushing CR would be needed, and people will always be tempted to stay behind using FI/CO for attacking.
Since the univers will most likely be FI heavy early on, there will be a lot of FR fleets avaible to defend vs our CR.
Very weak vs FI.
Hard to stop FR incs when buccs is in the attackers fleet.

Strengths:

3 races with CR.

--------------------------------------

BS

ter/etd BS is my choice of strat this round. Its good vs everything.

Weaknesses:

Rushing BS would be needed, and people will always be tempted to stay behind using FI/FR/DE for attacking.
We have a lot of cat/zik players in allie, and it perhaps could be proven difficult to convince em going for something else.
We have "no" anti FI in allie eta wich is useable, we are dependant on having ATLEAST 2-3 BowS each gal, forts would be favourable.
Its somewhat weak vs FI, having investors/chimeras as our only anti FI "might" be hard if we cant do defence efficient.
Very slow start.
We have to balance the fleets good.

Strengths:

The best defence setup if we can utilize ingal def + prelaunched chimera/investors.
Can roid everything.
With enough BS, faking will be good.

Re: Stats discussion post R62

Ascendancy came up with 2 options before round start, both focused around Cat/Zik/Xan.

Option 1:
- Cat De (heavy on Moth and Mantis, to deal with Fi/Co/Bs)
- Zik Fr (Sairs for Fr, Buccs for Cr and Thief for killing ally-ETA defense)
- Xan support (Pulsar for anti-De and Vsh for Fi).

Cat De/Zik Fr teamups are unstoppable by anything other than mass, mass Co, and with these stats being very defensive in nature, teamups were the way to go anyway.

Option 2:
- Cat Co (Beetles for anti-Fi, Black Widow for anti-Co/Cr, Mantis for anti-Bs)
- Zik Co (Sair for Fr, Cutlass for anti-Fi/De, Bucc for Cr)
- Xan support (Pulsar for anti-De, Phantom for anti-Co)

Co is solid all-round, and we had quite a few people who weren't quite certain how active they were going to be, so Xan would be a natural choice for them.

We very briefly discussed Cr, but the huge amount of resources needed in ally-ETA anti-Fi/CO, the vulnerability to FCs, and the activity required to handle defense were all down-sides we felt Ascendancy could not compensate for as other alliances might be able to.

In the end we went for option 2, in the knowledge that since both strategies depended on the same races, and in fact many of the same ships, a switch to option 1 would be feasible mid-round. And this in fact did happen. As the round progressed, we discovered that Co/Fr was actually a very strong combination defensively. In 1 : 1 or 2 : 1 numbers in Co : Fr, it was also nicely fakeable, since only Fi fires at both classes.

He would have given them a coy little wave if the roof hadn't collapsed just then. Mary then found himself in the middle of an understandably shocked family's kitchen table. So he gave them the coy little wave and realized it probably would have been more effective if he hadn't been lying on their turkey.
