one would have thought they'd be rather substantial upgrades if they've confiscated everything

the homepage says
Quote:
Today the swedish anti-piracy organisations raided The Pirate Bay and confiscated the computers running the tracker. This probably means the end of The Pirate Bay and we, the crew, apologize for all loss of income caused by our activity over the years.

The discussion of whether or not a website well known for "thumbing it's nose" at anti-piracy authorities has been finally caught or is just pranking it's visitors is a valid one.
Perhaps if you offered something more constructive than unexplained hate, you might contribute something of value and be taken seriously. Yarrr!

Re: Pirate Bay :(
I enojy Pirate Bay after the recent closures it is pretty much the only one I use. So to see reports that it has been shut down (twice in this thread so far) is not something I enjoy. If the reports were accurate I would not hate this thread, but seeing as it is (unintentionally) misleading I do not like it.
Edit: Yarrr!

I saw one in the cinema with Aryn, the ones in the adverts before the movies start etc.
It was nearly giggleworthy at how pathetic, tacky and inaccurate it was.
I had to fight the urge to laugh out loud .

I hate those that compare d/l'ing to stealing. And the worst part is that some people actually start to think of it as stealing. I mean, it's a outright lie, and it's a wonder how the corporations can get away with lying in public.

Re: Pirate Bay :(
I'm not very pro about piracy. Hard work should be awarded and piracy does not support hard work.
Although I did burn a the new Trust Company and Queens of the Stone Age CD's and it felt ****ing good listening to "free shit".

And yes, as of 1st of July they are making it illegal to download, even for personal use, however the situation is made complicated by other laws and current trials. So hang in there, right now, noone knows what really is legal or not.

Re: Pirate Bay :(
i stil dont understand on what basis they shut down the websites. surely the torrentfiles themselfs are not illegal. sure, the only use of the torrentfiles is to download illegal stuff, but still, there is no copyright on the torrent-files.
