Terran Race Guide (R16)

Just like last round, Terrans will have a big problem in aiding their alliance with defense ships, they are a pretty open to roidlosses but on the other hand they are good (read: Ace) in capturing them.

First the Destroyer fleet; the main advantage of the Terran De fleet is that apart from the Chimera and the Wyvern, they target all ships which target them, so hardly zero loss defense. In combination with their high armour it will be a very strong and feared fleet.

Pegasus: De -> Co
Barghest: De -> Cr
Ziz: De -> Roids

Anti De:
Chimera: Fr -> De
Wyvern: Bs -> De
Viper: Co -> De
Roach: Cr -> De
Fireblade: Co -> De
Wraith: Cr -> De
Marauder: Cr -> De

The only race Terran’s will find difficult to attack are other Terran’s. With the Chimera and the Wyvern both taking zero-losses against De, it’ll be not worth the risks.

Terran’s will find Zikonians and Cathaar the best to attack. Though Caths have 2 ships targeting De only the Roach is worth the resources. Vipers are good against the Zikonian De fleet however against Terran they are worthless.
Also the Roach is a main ingredient for the Cath Cr fleet so you can count on it being out for most of the time (plus it doesn’t kill!).

Zikonian:
The ziks will in my opinion turn out to be the most targeted race by the Terran Destroyers. While they have the marauder as a steal ship, it is no match for the Barghest. Unless the Zik’s will be able to steal enough Corvettes or Chimera (which is looking pretty unlikely atm.), they’re sitting ducks

Xandathrii:
The only other race who are somewhat capable of keeping of De are the Xan’s. As I stated in my Xan guide, the Fireblade and the Wraith are pretty efficient in killing De. If Xan’s will build mainly Fb’s (which is likely in the first 200 ticks) go for a Pegasus heavy De fleet. Later on Barghests might turn out more needed if Wraiths and Roaches are becoming common.

Then on to (what I consider) the best attackfleet in the game.

Battleships:
Wyvern: Bs -> De
Dragon: Bs -> Bs
Leviathan: Bs -> Roids
(Syren: Cr -> Fr)
(Behemoth: Cr -> Stru)

Anti Bs(/Cr):
Barghest: De-> Cr
Dragon: Bs -> Bs
Black Widow: Fr -> Bs

Scarab: De-> Cr
Mantis: Bs -> Cr
Ghost: Fr-> Cr
Peacekeeper: De-> Bs
Broadsword: Bs -> Bs

Clipper: De -> Bs
Buccaneer: De -> Cr
Rogue: Cr -> Cr

For the Battleship fleet counts the same as for De, attacking Terran’s is very difficult. Other then that, the Bs fleet is much like the De fleet. They target back all other ships but the Black Widow. However the BW is EMP so no losses against Cath.

Zikonians are again the easiest race to hit. Build a wyvern-heavy fleet and no Zik can touch you.
While Cath’s only EMP’s the Bs it is a highly efficient ship and if you encounter Broadswords along ingal you might consider recalling
Xan is the race which has the best anti Bs. Though the Peacekeeper can’t take on the Wyvern, the Broadsword certainly is very efficient at killing Terran Bs.
Since it will take a while until Xan’s can build Bs focusing on Wyverns would be adviced.

As you may have noticed, I included the Syren in the attack fleet. Including Syrens is a great way to scare off Cath Black Widow's. However this might be a disadvantage aswell, since Anti Cr is around alot aswell and getting your Syrens killed is not adviced. (Include fake Syrens!)

All in all the Bs fleet has huge armour and cannot be easily stopped. In combination with a wave distorter strategy, you’ll be the fear of most DC’s!

BUT, yes, there’s a big but to Terrans. It is a race which will prove very efficient at gaining eXPerience, when playing in an alliance they’ll soak up lot of Fi/Fr/Cr incomings.

Once again the Terran’s aren’t blessed with good defensive ships. The harpy is close to useless when it comes to stopping Interceptors, Gryphons lack the Dmg and initiative to do any harm to Xan or Cath Fr. The only anti Cr ships is the Barghest which will be stunned by Roaches or will be out attacking. The Phoenix might look usefull on first sight, Xan only needs to insert Phantoms in their fleet.

The only worthy def-ship is the Chimera. This ship rocks in killing incoming Destroyer fleets with zero losses!

All in all, for people who like to go for XP and don’t mind the roidlosses Terran is the way to go. If you are more concerned about your alliance, I’d suggest you stay away, since going Terran will surely attract massive Cath/Xan/Zik incomings.
