A couple questions about XP...
I know you get XP for roiding (of course!), but I've also read in the manual that you get XP for doing covertops and scans.

The 'formulae' page mentions that:

The covertops manual page mentions the amount of XP you get from that, but I'm wondering: Do you really get XP from waves, and how much?

In r10.5 the #1 gal worked out you got more score through scanning than you did from spending on value, so they mass spent res on it. The formula was quickly changed to make it only very small xp per scan, much less than spending on value.

The current XP gained for scanning is next to nothing, and I'll probably change it for next round.
It's 0 for all scans apart from the top 3 (news / jgp/ fleet) which it's 1 for.
At least making it 1 for each scan would be cool though with the new XP formula, I will be careful. I promise :P

I managed about 3.5k XP from initiating, scanning and covert ops last round. Making it 1 for planet or structure scans would be a very bad idea (as then you could spend loads of resources to gain double or equal to what you'd gain from buying ships.)
