The thread was orignally built by me, given over to LH when I needed a little rest and now, after half a year of not being posted, here is the RP Awards for the Christmas/New Year. Rules are as follows:

Psychics Award - There are some that use psychics in better ways than I do

Adam - Try to remember those names, 'Castle something-or-rather' is not very helpful

Before I start cheering while doing a happy dance; are you sure you've counted correctly? I was already very surprised when people nominated me for this award, but I certainly never expected to actually win it. What exactly is 'Best Character Use' anyway?

best way of using the flaws and merrits, history and plans of the character in your roleplaying?

like if you play an utterly evil drugaddict bent on destroying virginity and with a history of bad grades at school for languages, you break up a happy couple before they hit the sac, drug the girl and lure her in your bed that way, cause talking to her would take to long, cause she's spanish, and wouldn't understand a word you said even if you'd do the effort of learning the language


btw, the above is a not-so-good example I'm afraid, for, the way I see it, it should be small things you do to prove you actualy have those flaws and merits, to let people learn bits of your history in-game, like if you state in your history that your parents died, and you were raised by elves or whatever, and grew up to be a strong warriortype, you can tend to respond a bit agressive when people talk about parents, or in the bar, when everyone's enjoying themselves, and you're one of the noisiest of them all, parents come up, and you turn silent and slightly sad, stuff like that. the subtle hints at your charsheet. Ofc the obvious stuff is part of this...


now, before anyone starts talking about this part of the awards using anything I posted, please, ask AcidK if this is true, cause it's only what I read in it...

I agree with Zappa here. This is what I thought it meant. I think he did a good job putting it to words too.

The 'Best Chaarcter Use Award' has many different aspects.

Characters are made to suit the user, correct? Well, some characters are suited for one purpose, but are used in the complete opposite. For example, if someone has a character that is not very strong, has a light-hearted attitude to life and is generally happy... The BAD use of this character would be acting as if it was strong, cold-blooded and constantly angry. This is a simple example, btw. Another aspect of the character would be how that character is used in other Roleplays. For example, a feeble old character would not neccessarily break into matrix-moves and begin to kick ass in speeds that even younger characters can manage.

For me, AK's reason is more just staying in character than best character use. Zappa's would be more appropriate. I feel I do AK's well (and anyone who doesn't is a bad RPer) but don't do Zappa's much, if ever.
