Boo Hoo Hoo
The following is an excerpt from a rag called "Spinsanity." Just for grins, put your political persuasions aside, and look objectively at this crap.
The writer sums up his or her screed by making a lame excuse. The poor press corps, he or she says, can't deal with Bush's statements because they are too convoluted. (I knew the press corps had an agenda. I didn't realize they are all boneheaded stupid.)
This so-called editorial denouncing spin is itself a paragon of spin. Remember, kiddies, if you want to get the general drift, read right and left, discount half, and form an opinion based on experience. (If you are without experience, be quiet.)
"Bush has become a master of making statements that are factually true but misleading, while escaping criticism for doing so from the press corps. This is partly a result of the deference generally granted to the president. Bush's reputation for imprecise speech may also make reporters reluctant to criticize his words so closely. And because his claims are often phrased in complicated and confusing ways, they are difficult for the press to directly refute."
