I'm despondent at the prospect, but I must admit that your spelling has just become better by leaps and bounds. Obviously, you're not writing 'Standard English' but it's all correct within the style.

A*

Merry Christmas to you, Dirtball and the kids =)

One of my former HC collegues had a fairly small planet every round, yet was excellent military HC - Some people give their all to the good of the whole, their personal planet welfare comes last.

Hence Scouse is talking bollocks, HC with 'small' planets don't need any excuses - They certainly shouldn't be ashamed.

Being HC and having a large planet do not need to be mutually inclusive.

NB: Personally I played PA for the alliance side, I couldn't give a toss about my planet - I grew out of that in round 3. I'm sure many HC play(ed) for the same reasons. Basically the game side of PA is ****, always has been. The enjoyment (for me) came in participating in the higher levels of the political, and large scale organisation. The pathetic rush for the top planet is for kids.

In my view most HC's tend to have small planets, especially the smaller alliances. It gets to around 2:00 CET, not many people online, not much defence about, hence you finaly send out your third fleet to cover a planet.

When I was (I wont use the current tense as I am going to have a go at seriously playing next round as well as being HC) playing as HC I had a pretty poor score, mostly due to the simple fact that I was always sending my fleet out for defence, or faking a hard planet on an attack. I might get the odd attack in once a week.

During Round 6 I pretty much stopped being a HC and conentrated on my planet, with only a few galaxy mates we were raking in about 1k roids every night between the 4 of us. We were taking two, three targets, all in all it was piss easy.

Keeping those juicy roids while not being in an alliance proved another matter through. 'Allied' attacks and such, who would have thought it...legion mistakenly attacking me around 6 times despite me being in the arbiter....anyone would think I had annoyed legion or something

It seems many people still have not understood what this post is about which is amusing. In my view, its quite simple and let me give my take on things.

1. Its a fact that many HC were big AND were exellent hc doing both jobs well. This thread is obviously not about those people

2. Its also a fact that many hc were small and also exellent hc putting a priority on the overall wellfare of the alliance over individual planet due to time constaints since their orgainizational and political skills were needed much more so to the point where maintaining a big planet was not feasable. This thread is NOT about those people!

3. Its also a fact that there are/were hc who are just inactive, incompetant/lazy players which crappy planets and also crappy hc. These people didnt contribute little or even hurt thier own alliances with bad political/organizational/leadership skills while setting an example of also having small planets. THis THREAD IS ABOUT THESE PEOPLE ONLY!

Most of the people having problems with the thread and also hc are probably self consious people who wanted to defend even having the EXCUSE of having a small planet. You can bet they will be the first to claim what good and exellent hc's they were when in fact they failed in all areas regarding thier performance and leadership as hc.

imo its a pretty lame excuse, to have no time for a planet coz of beeing a hc....
also i saw hcs or officers without a planet.....kinda strange isnt it ?
Speaking of Hcs and other officers without a planet at all,
that Ive never understood.
If I dont play the game I will not lead others in it.

As to the rest, I cant speak for other HCs,
but to and for me the comments shoot way off the target.

I stopped working because Elysium needed more time from me than I had to give whilst being fully employed.
My normal workshedule for Ely the last 2 rounds has been
staying up 48 h (which is approximately the time Ive
found Im able to stay up on a regular basis),
then sleeping for about 8 then back on for 48h.

During the time Im up I will on a general basis have problems getting away from my puter to shower and eat,
and it will take me often up to half a day to get that done.
This because there is always something that needs to be done,
and always members that need help with something or other.
They deserve whatever I can give them, wheter its time or work.

I am the head of mil and also of external, in addition I do defence calls, especially at the ungodly hours of the night and morning where all alliances have a problem with the amount of BCs on.
Then there are the regular runnings of an alliance,
with informing members,announcements,
answering questions, setting up roosters, battlegroups, targetpicking, keeping up outside relations, etc.
There are more things to do than I get to count most days.

I still attack EVERY day,as well as being in the
top20 defenders of Elysium the last 2 rounds.
(The rounds before that I was top defender of Elysium every round..)
We run with bgs that have different launchtimes,
and when all targets are set and all attacks are open,
I will work to get everything everywhere covered and then
9 times out of 10 I will pick one or two targets that are uncoverable in the sense that theyre bad targets.

That isnt a good way to grow big,but its the way I play.
To me my size isnt very important,
and my planet gets the last scraps of my attention after everything else has gotten its share.
Telling me that Im a worse HC for it
I find quite ill informed and also slightly insulting.
Personally, I could spend more time on myself and my own planet, but that time would have to come from somewhere.
The day has a limited amount of hours,so Elysium would get less.

Btw,I dont play a tiny planet, just to make that clear,
I mean Ive never been under the uni avg,and Ive been sized
at least the last 2 rounds around the avg or higher in Elysium.
But youre not talking about playing a decent planet,
youre talking about playing a good planet,
and top100 or whatnot just isnt happening.

Regards,Eylisia

Where is he saying that? Don't take things so personal, you said yourself your planet isn't 'crap' but decent sized, even with all the effort you put into your alliance, proves all the more that having a tiny worthless planet cause of having no time for it is a poor excuse.

As a general rule, its normally HC that sacrifice their planets for the alliance (i.e. have small ones and never ask for defence) where as BCs etc seem to have reasonable planets...or so has been my experience.

I wasnt taking it personal at all,
in fact I was smiling all thru the post
I was simply explaining why and how to some ppl
PA isnt played for the sake of score.

As to where I said "he said" that was my own fault for you misunderstanding, cos that was adressed to the main post,
not the guy I quoted

oh,and btw, like I said on the leading without actually playing a planet, thats odd to me.And if youre PLAYING your planet it goes without saying that it shouldnt be UTTER crap.
It just gets muddled when ppl use terms such as small,
because they are viewed so differently for different ppl.
