d)solar activity of the nearest sun (kakna) and tactical info on the sun and the system

2) have the engineers work on the targeting system, shield regeneration and the ssd devices.

3)recharging of all weapons (3rd post)

4) message the troth to follow us toward the station but keep 1 light second away, and ready to run if hostile move.

5)message Dangerfield to get info from station data base and secure the station.

6)have the rear shield power divert to front , to boost them.secure all fighters back to the ship and begin repair on the 2 burning runabout when possible.

*His mind starts to wander and feeling a little faint from blood loss finds a little comfirm with just a quick nap, yes he'll just close his eyes for a second... damn those rookie engineers, where is he going to... pancakes... some tennis balls and Zzzzzzzz

Marine - "We've breached their defenses!"

Marine Commander - "Alright, move out!"

The two Companies head out (due to being onboard the enemy ship), one led by Fluffie, the other by the MC. Fluffie's was headed for the bridge, the MC's for engineering.

Leading his Company, Fluffie felt the urge to squash, murder, butcher and straight out just to kill any bug in sight.


It didn't take long.

The first bug sighting was over rather quickly though. The shadowy silhouette of a buggy creature looming from just around the corner told Fluffie and his Marines enough and not at all much later, two 'nades (made for on-ship action, as in, not to blow the whole thing up, just what's inside ) rolled away from the group and around the corner.

Silently counting to five, Fluffie cracked like a whip and jumped around the corner not even a full second after the blast had done its job.

But there was still something standing, maybe in the process of collapsing.

Again, it didn't take Fluffie long. Drawing his Pulse Pistol and stretching his arm fully before firing for style purposes, whatever kind of bug it was before - it was now a dead one.


Some encounters later, one heavier than the other as the Bugs most likely started realising what was happening, Fluffie's Company got to the bridge.

Marine - "Looks... Sturdy."

Marine - "Closed even?"

Marine - "Yeah."

"Blow it out."

Marines - *chuckle*

As the Marines got to work on placing some friendly neighbourhood explosives, some watched their backs, others just reloaded. Fluffie though, clicked the commlink button, opening a channel to his MC.

"Report."

MC - *crackle* "Nearing engineering sir. Looks like they've dug in well."

"Aye. We're about to blow out the door to their bridge."

MC - "Never the subtle one, you. I'll at least try and minimize the damage done to engineering then, ok?"

"Hehe alright. Tell your men to be ready for any possible blackout, it might be me, or it might be the boys outside sending that virus."

MC - "Right. MC out."


Again, not much later because it didn't take too long, something exploded onboard the Chrono Borg ship. And yes, in fact, this time it was the door to the bridge.

Grinning widely, Fluffie stepped in through the still smoking gap, Pulse Pistol in one, Overwatch Standard Issue in the other hand. Leveling his lovelies, he opened fire.

Stuff, bugs, was dying and it wasn't really him.

Summary
The Heavy Cruiser and the two Police Cruisers stay in formation but hold back, not firing. They are ready for the linking up and sending the virus part. They do some repairs and try not to get fired upon.

Fluffie and his Marines board. One Company goes to Engineering to secure the power aboard the ship, the second Company, the one Fluffie is with, goes to the Bridge. After the Bridge and Engineering have been secured, a ship wide sweep begins. Most bugs found are killed, some just crippled/disabled and then gathered and guarded somewhere for possible future questioning.

And, if the number of 'Superweapons' exceeds 5, then why? Why are there more than 5 'Superweapons' for this?

In short: any weapon (and this does not include things like missiles & torpedoes etc. and fighters and things like the particle array (that thing's a little more complicated)) that requires 5 or more turret mounts is automatically classed as a superweapon, even if it doesn't say so in the description. Every superweapon (so every weapon that requires 5 turret mounts or more) needs 3 posts to charge, even if it doesn't say so in the description (unless a different charging cost is specified). The only exceptions that I know of, are te Quad Blaster and Quad IMOD Cannons, which are 5 turret mounts and can be fired every post (they're not superweapons as far as I know, but they are very powerful).

The limit of superweapons you can have on your ship is determined by your ship's hull. I am not sure where the actual lines are drawn, but I believe that anything below the size of corvette, isn't allowed a superweapon, and from destroyer and upwards you can have a maxiumum of 2 superweapons. Then there's the really huge and massive ships that are allowed to have more than 2 superweapons like the deathstar, the command/flagship, the concordat and possibly the command carrier. Of course, if you are creative, I'm sure you can find a way to increase the number of superweapons on your ship in one way or another, but don't tell anyone I said so and keep it quiet.

let me clarify for you

a superweapon is anything that is 6 mounts or above generally (although there are some that are 5 mounts)

no ship below corvette can have a superweapon

ships upto light cruiser can have 1 superweapon

ships abover this can have 2 and some ships can have more.

both SO's and TO's - we have established that once every 3 years or so an anomaly called the PROMETHEUS comes into close contact with the asteroid field - it is a comet of gigantic proportions, this means that the FRODAN system suffers what can obly be called an ASTEROID STORM.

It just so happens that in 3 days time the Comet will encounter the Asteroid Field, i suggest that we use this and ride the storm

However the risk will be that it will not be an easy ride - all our ships will have to be flown manually and we will have to whart can only be called "surf" the gravity wave

EO - it can be done if we modify our sheilds sirs

Cid sat back in his chair and opened a can of instant-heating Shraanian coffee, sipping it slowly. He had taken a few of them from the Dragon's Wing whilst they were there.

Cid: Okay, we need to formulate a plan for when the distraction is made. Frodan's home planet is, obviously, Frodan III. When the Lady Hawk distracts the Frodan Fleet to a safe distance away, we make our move in to take the starbase out quickly and with as few casualties as possible, mainly because the less deaths, the more we can recruit.
No1: We cannot do that with the ships we have, sir, even with the fleet gone.
Cid: That is why I am going to call for support and a history lesson. You remember the other crew that survived Demai Kank that couldn't board the Gripstar?
No1: A little hard to forget them, sir.
Cid: Well, I left them with a small ship to help them find and recover a ship hull from an asteroid feild not far from our location. They found the ship, took it to Ankaa about the same time we left the system. I have confirmation now that the rest of the crew from the old Liovanda and the Amodyte are on their way to the Frodan System as we speak.
No1: What type of ship, sir?
Cid: A heavily-modified and fully functional Hope-Class Attack Destroyer.

Cid watched as his Number One's jaw dropped slowly.

No1: But... they're almost...
Cid: A thousand or so year old, yes. From my studies of the old Shraan Empire I have read about the legendary Hope-Class vessels. The Empire used them as general defence for other vessels such as corvettes, frigates, cruisers and such-like. Designed to take on ships ranging from Corvettes to Cruisers. However, since a lot has changed over time, we had to modify the ship so that it was not so... out-dated. The chassis was about the only thing recoverable, if I remember rightly, although it did cost us quite a bit to recover it and reform it.

Most of it looked expensive, but pretty edible. That Lady Hawk certainly knows how to look after herself. However, I do not trust these people and so I ate and drank nothing. Oh, I pretended to eat and drink, but I would always find a way to accidentally spill my drink or drop my piece of toast. I was, of course, the laughing stock of the entire ship, silly as I was. Oh yes, I definately think clumsy Dr. Burnham made a very memorable impression, especially on their pate. They're all thinking I am a complete dolt on a ship with a retarded crew. No offence."

No1: "None taken."

Burnham: "Like I said, I don't trust that Lady Hawk and if she thinks I'm an idiot, all the better. If it will ever come to a confrontation with her, she will think I'm just a harmless fool that got lucky once and I won't be considered much of a threat. It's absolutely amazing how forthcoming they are about the workings and complexity of ship systems and their 'important' roles towards people that aren't as technical as they are."

No1: "Very good thinking, Sir. I'll instruct Larry to have a look at it while you freshen up."


* A short hour later, Dr. Burnham, once again wearing clean clothes, stepped onto the bridge of his ship. In contrast to most other military ships, nobody here stood attention as the captain entered a room. This wasn't out of disrespect, because people had initially tried it, but Dr. Burnham had quickly told them that he'd rather have his crew focuss their attention on their jobs than on him.

Burnham: "So Lisa, what's our status?"

No1: "All repairs have been completed and we're testing the modifications we made to the ship. Also, our two newest additions The Hope and The Glory are fully operational and waiting for your orders."

Burnham: "Very good. Lady Hawk has decided that this system will function as a base from which they will spread their Shraanian revolution. She said it will be our job to take the system while she will lure away the bulk of their defensive fleet. I don't like it, but I don't think we have much choice in the matter, so I want everyone to think of a potential plan while Larry and Letice will perform the necessary scans for planetary defences and analyse their fleet strength. I shall soon be having a private conversation with captain Killer. He knows Shraan and he knows the system and he has been put in charge of the entire operation. Larry, have you yet taken a look at the stuff I brought back from The Dragon Wing?

SO: "Eh, no Dr. Burnham. I've, eh, been doing other things."

Comms: "Channel open."

Burnham: "Greetings, captain Killer. Since you will be the one in charge of this operation, I was wondering if you have yet thought of a plan? Personally, I don't think that the plan that was proposed by Lady Hawk, will work. The Shraanians in this system are used to pirates, surely they won't be so stupid as to send their entire fleet in pursuit of a few brigands and leave their planets virtually defenceless? There's only one good thing to her plan and that's her leaving the system. Besides, I'm sure the people on the planet have kept track of our recent skirmish with her and they will start wondering what happened to us when they don't see us leaving the system. In my opinion there are two ways to go about this; we could try to avoid unnecessary bloodshed and use diplomacy to convince the planetary leaders to join our cause. However, if they refuse, we are likely to have a massacre on our hands, which is why I favour the alternative; a swift strike against their most important defences. If we can take those out fast, the rest of them are likely to go down as well. There will, of course, be some casualties, but it won't turn into a bloodbath. The downside of this option is that such a sneak attack on your own people will probably cost you your reputation. It is up to you to decide which is more important to you."

Ah yes, 6 turret mounts, that's true. I remembered that wrong ever since the incident with the Phased Hellborne Cannon which said it required 4 turret mounts, but was actually 5 turret mounts (this has been corrected) and turned out to be a superweapon, so I had to remove 4 out of 5 from my ship and replace them with Heavy Disrupters. :crymeariver:

I also thought that 2 superweapons were only allowed on Light Cruiser class and above, but I figured I must've been wrong since someone, and I'm not giving any names () put me up against Destroyer class vessels that had 2 kylithium enhanced Heavy Pulse Cannons with which they terrorized my existence.
Come to think of it; they're still on those destroyers, only now I use them to terrorize my enemies. Does this have any implications?

Shaking his head, Morgan grunted to himself as he tried to shake off the memories. Flashbacks were another symptom of extended Starburst travel.

”Bride, engineering. Power reserves are returning to nominal, however the Starburst drive is down cycling. We will be unable to utilize it for a while.”

Morgan: “Confirmed. Tactical, I want a full scan of the system. Navigation, I want us to sync with a Commonwealth locsat and send a hail, informing them of our status.”

Communications: “That’s strange, I’m not detecting anything on the standard bands. Only static.”

Tactical: “Something is wrong, Sciences, take over.”

The sole science officer, McBarry, who was drafted into the position cause of his 2 year assignment as a science lab assistant before switching to FTL theory, stating working his console while rubbing his head, fighting off his own headache.

Science: “Our spatial coordinates according to the navigation computer says we were where we initially left this galaxy. Plotting out star locations, this is strange. Give me a minute.”

Executive Officer: “I have a bad feeling about this. I recommend taking the ship to condition 2 and have the fighters readied.”

Flight Officer: “I got confirmation from the CAG, pilots are ready.”

Morgan: “I agree. Go to condition 2, extend the flight pods. McBarry, where are we?”

Science Officer: “Give me a fraking minute. Okay, it’s not a matter of where but when. Computer is almost there…….. frak me.”

Morgan: “What is it?”

Science Officer: “This is not right. According to the navigation computer, we have traveled approximately…. Scratch that, unable to determine. We are in the future, at least a centaury from the time we left, if not more. The computer is having trouble with the calculations.”

Tatical Officer: “Dradas contact, reading three unidentified ships, bearing in. They are at extreme sensor range.”

Morgan: “Lock down all sensors, no details. Communications, narrow band transmission to them, inform them that we are temporally displaced.”

Science Officer: “What the, I’m reading weapon lock-ons. They are targeting us.”

Executive Officer: “I think we can scratch the temporal directives.”

Morgan: “Agreed. Go to condition one. Hail them again asking who they are and their intentions.”

With the ship condition set to condition one, short alarm burst are heard throughout the ship. Personal rush between sections before sealing them off. Fighter pilots jump into their fighters while deckcrews maneuver them into the launch tubes. Outside the ship, the five massive Long-Range Flak Interceptor Turret lift up from the hull, swiveling towards the incoming ships. The three Long-Tom Cannons also deploy from the hull, mauvering for target lock.

Inside the C&C, the shipboard Marines seal off the command center, which is buried deep within the superstructure of the ship. Personal strap themselves to their chairs, with the sounds of multiple conversations filling the chamber as the various sections communicate.

Flight Officer: “Commander, Vipers ready for launch.”

Tactical Officer: “Weapons online and confirmed. Flak defense grid ready for activation.”

Communications Officer: “All stations report set to Condition One.”

Morgan: “Navigation, maneuver us with parallel to the incoming ships. Narrow aspect. Communication, maintain hails. Flight, prepare for Viper launch.”

We must assume that the attackers are hostile to us as well as the convoy, everyone get to your battle stations. This is our first major engagement, make me proud.""

"Sir," the Tactical Officer turned to him. "What if it's a trap? Priates and Brigands are well known for that."

"Damn you might be right..."

Dras looked around his senior officers.

"A vote, I don't want us going into a trap without you lot knowing and accepting that it could be one. Well?"

The officers voiced their opinions. Only the XO voted against it.

"Ok then, we go." Dras Grinned. "I want the Fighters ready to launch. Use the autopilots, link them into the control desks, put our best two pilots in those two desks. They'll be safer in the main ship than directly controling the fighters. Power up one neutron shield and the Kinetic Shield. Put the other two shields on standby. If they drop below 50% I want them swapped."

He paused

"Bring us out at long range, I want to give them a chance to give in and us one to asses the situation."

Captain Mekuhn addressed the ship again.

"Good luck everyone. Yellow Alert. Battle Stations."

Summary:
1)Head towards distress signal
2)Return signal, keeping it as hidden as possible by routing through the sensor array for distance, and using narrowband.
3)Adress the crew, battlestations
4)vote on whether they should go, incase of trap
5)Ready fighters, use simulation desks to control auto pilot
6)Power up Kinetic and one neutron shield
7)Put other two shields on standby, to swap if kinetics and neutrons drop below 50%
8)Order pilot to bring them out at long range
9)Yellow alert
10)Just for the sake of round numbers

Well, if ASME doesn't get a mission of his own, you could ask him to come along with you. You will be able to help eachother out combatwise, but it is also an opportunity for the both of you interact with eachother and roleplay your characters and crews in order to develop them a bit.

"i d say about 10 second false echo at the moment, i could get you a full minute if i get 1 hour to work with"

1)have the S.O. do the following action
a)deep scan of the peacekeeper cruiser
b)continual scan of the sector for incoming ships
c)detail tactical analysis of the nebula and spinner system, to plan a run for it.
d)solar activity of the nearest sun (kakna) and tactical info on the sun and the system

2) have the engineers work on the targeting system, shield regeneration and the ssd devices.

3)recharging of all weapons (3rd post)

4) message the troth to follow us toward the station but keep 1 light second away, and ready to run if hostile move.

5)message Dangerfield to get info from station data base and secure the station.

6)have the rear shield power divert to front , to boost them.secure all fighters back to the ship and begin repair on the 2 burning runabout when possible.

MC – “Engineering has been secured as well sir.”

”Excellent. We did well.”

MC – “We sure did. We better sweep the ship though.”

”Correct. Resume control of both Companies and assign some Marines to safekeeping the bridge, engineering and the airlock. Then begin securing the entire ship systematically, if you encounter any survivors, secure a room somewhere and round them up there. Also, as you sweep, make a basic map that our engineering and science teams can use when they board, it’ll make their work easier.”

MC – “Sounds like a plan. What about you sir?”

“I’ll take one of your men and assign him as my bodyguard... Or support. It depends on how well I can walk, I might need someone to support me on my way to the med bay. Until we dock with The Outsider, I’ll stay on the bridge.”

MC – “Roger that. I assume our ship won’t dock till we’ve secured this one, so I’ll get started right away.”

”Two last things. If there are any prisoners, I’ll have Warren come on over. You two are to get any and all information out of them. And as our specialised teams come aboard, assign guards to them and have the airlock guarded carefully – lets take no risks.”

MC – “Understood sir. MC out.”

Fluffie groans softly – the stimulants were beginning to fade already – and slowly and carefully walks over to a clear stretch of wall, leaning against it and then softly sliding down into an eased sitting position. Seeing most of the Marines leave the bridge and beginning their sweep and map making of the ship, some remain – amongst of them one as a bodyguard/heavy lifter for Fluffie’s personal use. As they take up positions and begin their guard duty, there is only some chatter; so to say, not much. They were still serious about their job and Fluffie kind of appriciated this, with himself not being all that combat capable anymore.

Laying his rifle aside, he fiddles with some buttons and his comms unit and opens a channel to the bridge of his ship, The Outsider.

“Warren, you there?”

No. 1 – “Does this mean I don’t get to keep The Outsider?”

“Sorry man. These bugs can’t kill me, I’m like – superior.”

Very childish-ly, both men chuckle and if one were to listen closely, one would hear the WO chuckle along.

“Lets get serious though... I have some orders.”

Warren (who, still, is the No. 1) – “I’d be suprised if you didn’t have some to be honest.”

“True. The Marines are currently holding three key areas; the airlock, bridge and engineering. The ones not occupied with guarding these areas are sweeping the rest of the ship, securing her and making a basic map of the ship as they do so. This’ll make our work on it easier later on. As soon as the ship has been secured, I want you to dock and then I want science and engineering teams on it, examining every detail of it. Have our SO oversee them, the MC will provide security forces. The wounded and myself will find our way to med bay, so don’t worry about that. And... Also begin basic repairs on The Outsider, but nothing drastic or expensive yet – I’m still considering an upgrade or maybe some sort of hybrid...”

No. 1 – “You think the universe is ready yet for such powers at your disposal, sir?”

“Perhaps. We’ll just have to see and find out. But I need a full blue print and status report of this ship before I can make any decisions, so first things first.”

No. 1 – “Right. Any further orders?”

“Yah. If there are any prisoners, you and the MC are to question them. I want to know any and everything they know. Don’t really care how you get it out of them. If there is anyone important aboard, maybe keep them alive for hostage purposes.”

No. 1 – “I’ll leave the EO in charge of beginning repairs then. What do you want to do with the two Police Cruisers?”

“Tell them to begin repairs, maybe tow the science vessel if it needs help. We should be fine for the moment.”

No. 1 – “Right.”

“That’s that then. I’ll wait for the ships to dock and then I’ll be back on the bridge as soon as the doc is through with me. Fluffie out.”

No. 1 – “Copy that. Outsider out.”

No. 1 – “Alright, you heard the man. SO prepare your teams, EO continue with the repairs here. Helm, continue orbitting the Chrono Borg ship and prepare to dock once we get the signal.”

Helm, EO, SO – “Aye aye.”

No. 1 – “Comms, thank the Police Cruisers and ask if they’d be as kind to aid our companion, would you?”

Comms – “Certainly.”

Warren then taps a button, linking in with the med bay.

Warren – “Doc, you there?”

MD – “I’m here bridge. What’s our status?”

Warren – “The ship is under our control, it’s being secured by the Marines as we speak.”

MD – “Good to hear. Any wounded? What about the captain?”

Warren – “As soon as we dock, they will report in to the med bay...”

MD – “I’ll have some men ready at the airlock then, in case any need immidiate help.”

Warren – “As you please. Also, I might have a request for you...”

MD – “You might?”

Warren – “It depends on if there are any surviving Insectid.”

MD – “I know what you mean. It’s against my oath to provide drugs for... that sort of thing.”

Warren – “I know.”

MD – “But if I don’t help you, you will come down to the Med Bay and take what you think is the right stuff, which might be horribly wrong...”

Warren – “Exactly.”

MD – “I see. I have one condition though.”

Warren – “Name it.”

MD – “If it’s needed, I’ll have someone ready with the appropriate... injections. But he’ll also have a first aid kit with him.”

Warren – “Understandable. If I need your man, I will inform you. I’ll also let you know when we are about to dock, so you can have your teams at the ready.”

MD – “Thanks. Med Bay out.”

Then Warren leans back, continueing to enjoy every moment in the Captain's Chair. It was a nice chair. His Captain sure had a good taste when it came to Captain's Chairs. Warren probably couldn't have done it better himself. Sighing a nice, enjoyed sigh, he relaxes and listens to various reports as the whole situation steadily, easily and calmfully unfolds. The rush was over so now it was time to... relax a bit.


Summary
- Onboard the Chrono Borg ship the Marines post guards at the bridge, engineering and the airlock.
- The Chrono Borg ship is checked thoroughly by the Marines, “removing” or capturing any remaining alive and loose Insectid.
- If there are living Insectid, they are rounded up in an empty cargohold under heavy security. The MC and No. 1 will interrogate these Insectid seperately, with the help of any subtle and less subtle techniques they know. (And although there will be a medically trained crewmember with them equipped with certain drugs that might help the interrogation, only the Insectid that have any hostage value are to be treated with enough care to keep them alive. (This does not mean they are going to intentionally kill any of the other Insectid, but they’re not going to be that careful either.))

- As soon as the Chrono Borg ship has been secured, The Outsider will dock with it. Then, being guarded by Marines (who continue to guard the bridge, engineering and airlock), engineering and science crewmembers under the supervision will begin thoroughly examining and mapping and blue printing the Chrono Borg ship, with help of the earlier created Marine maps (for extra efficiency ).
- When the two ships dock, any wounded Marines (and Fluffie) will report to Med Bay.
(- Once done in Med Bay, Fluffie will return to the bridge of The Outsider to oversee whatever is still going on at that moment.)

- The EO continues to oversee the continueing repairs onboard The Outsider, but the ship won’t dock with the ‘yards yet and there won’t be any credits spent on intensive repairs yet. All that can be repaired as if they were in deep space all alone, will be repaired.

- The two Police Cruisers are thanked from the bottom of the Comms’ heart and are then asked if they can report to Kama to tow him to the ‘yards or start orbitting it or something. If Kama doesn’t reply (‘cause he might be sleeping) they will continue bothering him until he wakes up (or something ).
