Where people drink?
Ok GD, just to ask you people; where do you drink? I drink here: http://www.theshakey.co.uk/
and
http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pubfi...tletNumber=149
We all need to know where GD`ers drink.

The private parts closes when the last people leave, and is packed full with students and has a favourable gender-ratio. It's as close to heaven as you can come.

Re: Where people drink?
Here almost exclusively in a non-union sense. Only reasonable place to play darts in the city. And the Pleasance union every night too, though I'm having a hard time finding a photo of that when it's not dressed up like a Fringe venue.

I actually go there as well, though occasionally other places in the city. Most usually I end up at Samfundet or midweeks on Three Lions (Football pub).

Never been through to the Pleasance to drink. Tend to go to the links (although the photos are of the poncey trendy bit) if its a quiet evening.

Re: Where people drink?
The Links was better before the refurb though isn't a terrible place to drink. Many places have gone the way of it though; Drouthy's was ruined by refurbishment, the Steamie's not quite the same and the Southern bar is now more like an oddly-lit surgical theatre.

It's actually a bit sad now come to think of it that my other two nearest pubs (barring bruntsfield wine bars for the middle aged and posh) are actually the also-festival-inns owned cargo and polwarth tavern. The former I'm in every so often as a good place to meet people, the latter very rarely.
