Started by spamming dists and rushing bs. The combination is somewhat viable, but you're stretched very thin on research. You need the research bonus early to mine the roids you cap the first nights and to keep up with infra. Fortunately you won't need any defence either, because you'll sure as hell not be sending any. I got hypergate at tick 403.
Nevertheless, disting sucks ass. 1500 roids while building dists gives you about the same income as someone on 700 roids playing conventionally. That is not an exaggeration. I was top 30 on roids from tick 150 to 670 and only barely got into the top 100 on value. HCT was a bitch. Stopped at 101 dists, when they got too expensive. Then got owned by lolwaves.
Switched to FCs, then refs and amps. Near round end I got tired of not landing and switched to harpies, then phoenix.

Admittedly kept a pretty low profile for most of the round.. Had some tough galaxy breaks (sorry m0) and exiled around at least 6-7 times before finally landing with Williams & co. Had a good time playing with them (Williams, E-Choke, HaSu, Korsan, Stuhlman, etc), unfortunate that the war broke us apart but it was a well played round by them, nonetheless.
Strategically, it's pretty well known that [NFI] went the fr/de route. I was able to solo quite a bit with ghosts/widows making up a greater portion of my fleet value. Had some fun with the fi/co fleet (thanks alki) and built some distorters late in the round to fake with, nothing spectacular though.
I did go tot though so it let me get refs+fc's pretty early. I had 60 fc's by t500 and ended up with 100 refs along with the amps/dists. I think I was at 248 structures when I got sk'd though

Started off by going random landed in a average gal. Shortly exiled out and landed in a nice solid gal.
Gal started as NFI/App gal.
Gal was excellent at gaining roids and no one was ever attacking us.
Early/Mid round was having a horrible time with Osiris joining up the attack against NFI.
Eventually had NFI members 'retaling' me for free roids after having never attacked/defended against NFI in 10 days. Clearly enough time.
After the political situation flat-lined, was playing for a gal win opposed to playing for Ally(who at that point had maybe 12 active members playing due to Santa having to quit mid round).
Stopped caring with around 400 ticks remaining

Went TER DE (Spacebricks) with the plan to just spam refs, then move onto fc's. Quickly found out that Ter DE can't roid planets for shit. So teamed up mostly with various Etd/Ziks. Kept pretty good value all round thanks to my good income from refs/fc's. But like most rounds my xp was rubbish. Seemed every time I got above 1k roids I would get attacked. But didn't get much inc over the round.
Had a nice BP of me/unreal5/gotenks, who I had both shared a gal with last round. To this we added Mek/VdM through latestarters, and emo rein also exiled in pretty early.
Mid round I kinda got inactive as round was boring, and concentrated on researching scans and getting decent amount of amps. Then about 2 weeks till round ended I realised I could possibly get top100. So started roiding a bit more, mostly teaming with Munkee/Theam/JBG. On 2nd to last tick went up like 7 places as some idiots crashed on Golan giving me some nice salvage!
Overall round was pretty boring, thanks to the politics of NFI/ND.

My first round as Zik, and god did i suck at it? My total steal, tho it looks like nothing at all was actually those 1.1k Ironclads. My first time random since r28 aswell, found 1.7 quite quickly but as a gal it started well but failed to reach its potential and fell back into lethargy and inactivity. A fairly boring round, that the gal mostly got hit by NewDawn to whom i was NAP'ed goes a fair way to explaining the rank, that and the use of the bonus for roids in the last week and holding them because Asc was definitely not on the firing line.

not a round I was intending to play seriously, similar to the rest of asc really as this was going to be an idle round for everyone so initially I did not want to play at all. Londo however persuaded me (usually it is the other way around). Went random for the 1st time since round 28. Ended up in a gal with Hardcore, Auto and Car who I knew from TGV so decided to stay. It was never going to be top ranked but decent people. We did not get many incs and most of those we did get were not too difficult to cover so I lost barely any roids all round.
With asc barely playing all round there was little motivation and I just found myself defending most of the time. Total Attack Fleets: 54 Total Defence Fleets: 115 sums it up.
Next time I play can we have the top alliance not napping the 2nd alliance for most of the round and then feeling they need a bigger block to take that 2nd alliance out - especially if no.2 is ND, we all know they fall like a house of cards even if they outnumber you!

I decided to go random since I started a new job this round. Wound up not being too inactive because of my phone and lack of friends in a new town :crymeariver:
My strategy was Terran BS/harpy because was the most defensive strategy that could still land. Spammed refs/FC. Never had too many roids until the end. I couldn't keep what I got because of crap galaxies and huge fighter fleets, but my refs kept me with good income. Continued my streak of making t100 only every other round.

Started a new job this round (go me! o/) so decided to play a covert op planet and be utterly useless to everyone except for my galaxy. I ended up in 5:9 after a couple exiles and we actually had a shot at doing well until a few people got roided and quit (hai2u pretty much everyone in gal). Was an enjoyable round for myself aside from all the boring drivel people were posting on the forums.

Seems like a round ending ritual anymore. The alliance that loses whine about something ([NFI] gave plenty ) and everyone joins in!
Nice work on the cov-opping btw, stupid ruiner

Really wanted to play Zik - something I hadn't done yet. Switched from CR to DE when most of Subh joined NFI just before round kicked off.
Had difficulties landing attacks, as my graph shows. Had a nice retal at the start of the App war that netted me 270 roids in one cap and launched me up to #16. From there steadily fell due to not landing, or landing smaller attacks.
Happy to end t50 at least.
Biggest disappointment came in the form of that vac mode bs. Assuming most in ally would do it and sitting in the fattest gal, knowing Asc were coming to increase 1:8's chances (we had PL that morning) I thought we'd get smashed and not get any def from NFI...in the end cost our gal the #1 spot. We were the best roiding gal by far and were sitting in #2 gaining on 13:3 easily.
Ah well

I played some random planet and defended about twice as much as I attacked, ending top20.
Really enjoyable round, all that Asc QQ had me smiling all the way to the finish line.

Signed up late for BENNEH and JBG. Picked Etd for simplicity's sake and because of my laziness. Roided stuff for couple of hundred of ticks, got roided, spent my res from fund, got bored, and virtually stopped attacking after tick 650 or so. Signed in when JBG sms'ed me and launched where I was told to for the rest of the round.

BP Maniac CBA Zwanstic, Started off excellent Mek and Stif exiled in, Sun_Tzu random'd in at start. Would of been top galaxy but ST and LordN decided to hit zwanstic (lol). We did okay, remained fat most of the round.
Very boring round, NFI sucked tbh, definitely not a top alliance like asc.
I was roided 3 times throughout the round. Second night OOP I think ODDR hit me with xan fi fleets, I mass built pegs and landed everything for the battle
first 2 were fakes (hi heim). Then one of them landing a big xan fi fleet against loads of my pegs, they lost but I lost A LOT of value and this sorta messed up my round. Anyways I kept on pumping Refs all the way meant my value was always holding strong, although often I didn't have many roids.
The second I got roided was a VGN attack and some guy literally crashed 600k ruining hes round as it was fairly early for a max cap on me. He went straight to #1 XP though haha. Ohhh the XP system.
3rd time I got roided was the last week when I saw me and ST had pre along with the rest of NFI. I simply slept, turned phone off. Woke up for workt o discover 3 fairly large waves on me eta 5/4/3 respectively.
Ter DE was okay for teamups and brilliant for defense, But I knew it would be like that anyway.
Real accomplishment this round was Maniac finishing t3, after like 7 rounds break or whatever, he came back and kicked arse!!!
Anyways good round all, hope you enjoyed the last couple weeks anyway.

Oh and yay top 100 AGAIN. With just 61 launches
That's about it.

joined the lolwaves once they started and gained roids from them , only noteworthy incs were from ODDR and the horde (not 1 crash )so very boring round

First round as an ETD. played as a random and landed in a shit gal, exiled fairly soon straight into 4:4 who were top galaxy at that time.
As my alliance was either FI or BS based i rushed BS, and switching between refs and dists.
As ETD BS wasn't a good solo option this round i hooked up with a Cath CR mate and started pushing broadswords, making our attacks harder to defend for TER DE which we mainly targetted. Also i kept the visible FR/DE at the same amount as my BS for a large part of the round to make my fakes harder to spot.
Most glorious moment in this round was a fake landing on darts, where up to eta 3 noone in nfi realised it could be a fake, while my real fleet was landing on one of darts galmates.
http://game.planetarion.com/show_new...r0p10ppyoagq5v
I screwed up on my round in the first 2 days oversleeping on my launch twice in a row.

Decided to play day or two before signup started (or the same day, can't remember) and founded NFI via Xyphistor. Everything went nicely until i got landed on twice. After that rest of the round was competition to get back into Top100 and stay there. Finally reached my goal and i can leave this game (again).
Edit: Fixed Widows numbers

Started round as scanner, about 3500 of those scans were first 2 weeks. then got a new job so wasnt active enough to be scanner. cath co meant it was easy for me to roid people. mostly just went alone or with 1 other cath. only lost 58 roids all round, due to awesome dcing (and my emo skills).
Depressingly, this is my best ever finish.

I think that was the point, we dont know who he is let alone hate him.
PS. Sorry about the colours, I have no idea what I did there, it certainly was not intentional!
[EDIT] Changed for those for whom blue is offensive, as per D-S's suggestion

You used [php] instead of [code].
And yeah no one has even heard of Kafir.

Started off the round in a bad galaxy but self exiled out. After 3 exiles i landed in sun_tzu/cba/stifler/maniacmagic etc's galaxy (which was a blessing as the exile cost was starting to creep up towards a million of each, which i certainly couldn't sustain paying)
Started off the round dist whoreing, like mz did, and went for Etd fr/de as my fleet. This was my first time playing as Etd and i must say I'm really not a big fan off it. Being a xan player normally i felt that etd lacked that killer edge i was normally used to. Once the issue with Zwanstic happened, the galaxy plummeted from 3rd to 73rd and i presumed that the galaxy was a write off and made plans to join Dark-Strider's galaxy as a late starter.
Once i joined the galaxy i started off strong roiding people. Kept my resources in the galaxy fund to enable me to make some good early lands for decent score. I only got roided 3 times thanks to decent defence from Ascendancy. Instead of building dists again, i went for refinery's and finance centres and had a pretty decent income from my 800 or so roids (damn roiders wouldn't let me get over 1k :/) I think politics played a big part in my interest in the round as i started to care less about my planet leading up to the final 2 weeks. Joined in the asc lolwaves and cov opped poor defenceless CT planets to keep myself amused.
overall, not a fantastic round by me...but then again, it wasn't really a fantastic round altogether :P

Re: Who We Were R38
as for me .... 3:8:3 finished 3rd in the last tick. I did mostly BS and landed a few nice fakes for soem great roids and XP ... was a tough round as my fleet sucked ... I had every friggen ship you could imagine half BS half DE (I kept building for what the ally needed on def). Soo roids were very hard to come by. Uhhhmmm yeah ... was a decent round with CBA Ana3d and Sun_Tzu. Great guys ... had one ODDR in my gal who threatened me almost everyday to be wtf pwnt by ODDR every time he got retalled for attcking ND ... that was always funny. Got hit a few times ect bla bla not sure how im playing another round but I am lol.

was fun to be in the #1 gal and have a gal win, mostly because of the lack of incoming. Sadly when we did get some incoming def was almost not excisting. But overall a good gal with all active and attacking.
Had a great round even stole some zik ships and and astonishing 128k viper, 28k beetle and mosquito + some xan pods. Made an excellent fi/co fleet. and the frig fleet + widows was both good for def and attack.
Then the inevatable happened and my harddrive crashed wich limited me to using the laptop only at evenings. was lucky my frig fleet landed through a shitload of fake ND def. but went down from being top 100 to 242 on the last day.
ODDR ending 6th was good aswell even with 3HC not being around the last weeks due to various computer problems.
