Re: #Pa.Poker
None has to sign up using the link - But if you do youll be part of the top3 recieves a credit for next round bonus payout - We do not get any take on the tourny itself, so if you dont wanna play for a free credit and dont wanna use the link, then dont.
Its a small time poker tourny to try and have some fun towards end of round and to see if you can beat your pa mates in poker, thats it.

Re: #Pa.Poker
If people sign up and clear enough using the link, you get $50.
You are offering a $5 credit.
This smacks of advertising and should be removed immdietly.

Re: #Pa.Poker
Figuring if a few peeps would actually signup trough the site maybe it could pay off the 3 free credits - But by all means dont sign up using the link - We will remove the 3 free credits then and we just play a tournament as it is if its oohh such a big problem. And just to clarify the link does not give $50 it gives a small (single digit) percentage fee of the rake - Wich then actually requires people playing alot on the site to generate $50.
It was just an idear about adding a bit of PA prize to it. Dont like it, dont use the link.

Re: #Pa.Poker
Well opposed to all the "positive" reactions above, i think its a nice idea. The setup might have been a bit shakey, but events like this can be very nice are fun to do (if you can spend money online that is). So to you!

Re: #Pa.Poker
Wandows what they are doing is called 'bonus abuse'
It is also offering a prize for NEW gamblers.
Unethical for these forums.

Re: #Pa.Poker
I know that, but i might expect to much from the readers here . I would assume it would be obvious to those who would signup that it means they have to invest money in a gambling game/portal, thus that they would be cautions and only signup if they are sure of themselves. On the other hand it could be a nice thing for ppl already signed up there, as there might be players here who are actually interested in it. Perhaps its even a start to look for other community game tournaments to start. I agree poker (and the way done here especially) isn't the best way to do it, but i find the reactions here a bit harsh, why not suggest other ways of doing something like this instead of immediatly 'flaming' them?

Re: #Pa.Poker
of really forest, get off it!
what were doing is creating a bit of action as vision has always done.
Just this time it isnt visionwars, but a pokertournament to take our minds of pa while waiting for the tick.
Also i really dont understand all the negativity. If you dont like it dont play. If you dont like the bonus stuff dont use it. We have considered other sites but poker room offers the best service/security mix in our eyes so thats one other point im not ready to discuss about

Re: #Pa.Poker
Although to some extent you are right Leigon, you do have to realise not everyone on this forum is of legal age to gamble online (or in some countries its even completely forbidden). So the negative reactions could have been expected. I personally like to play a game of poker so i can certainly understand you the idea of creating a tournament online, but in a you are (whether intentionally or not) advertising for that casino (or whatever it is that runs the site), which is against the forum rules and can certainly be viewed as wrong.

Re: #Pa.Poker
The problem is, you are offering very little as bait, knowing it could bring you great rewards.
If is was just a poker gme for $5 thats one thing, but you didnt. You offered a pa credit for something which will make you money, and potentially a lot of money.

Re: #Pa.Poker
I was under the impression the poker game would be normal prize of all buy-in's won by the top X and on top of that the first 3 would get a credit? Might be i understood it wrong with the way i'm used to play poker though.

Re: #Pa.Poker
It states the the top 3 who signed up through the link get a credit.
That means you ahve to click the link, which gives the person who 'owns' the link money, in order to win a credit.

Re: #Pa.Poker
I have removed the referral id from the link. If you want to use the forum to advertise a community event then that's fine but it shouldn't be reliant on them earning you money in return.
So the thread can stay but I don't want to see you putting the referral id back and I expect that no matter if they used your link or not if they come in the top 3 they get the prize that has been offered

Re: #Pa.Poker
first of all im not the person responsible for that site nor do i earn anything by this link. I admit though that someone does, I think it is Red, and that is simply cos he put together the information and created the link.
The idea of 3 credits for ppl who have to bother signing up a new account in contrast to those who dont have to cos the alrdy have one, seems a good reward for the time for me. Red paid for those and he also set things up so he also gets the bonus. If you dont like that dont use the link. About that link: isnt it usual for an announcement to give reference links where ppl could go on, could take the next step. Thats just what the link is.
About teenaged players and ppl in countries where poker isnt allowed, i hope the software of the site will take care of this. We ofc do not support under age gambling.

That sounds like a threat! Hardly fair - I seem to remember PA team publically offering prizes on this site for winners of rounds etc, but didn't actually bother giving them out.

Was that a reply to me? If so its not a threat and what PATeam has and hasn't done in the past isn't relevant to my stance. Advertising isn't generally allowed on these forums but as mods we can show some common sense and if its something thats good for the community we will allow it.
However if its a way for someone to make money as the referral link does then no matter how little it may be thats just not on. So if you want the thread to remain as its not about making money but rather helping the community then leave the referral link out and offer the prize to everyone.

Just for the record though, it takes about 2 mins to make the link, the hard work is getting people to click it.
I run my own site and have links to nearly all the main poker rooms, and I offer people a lot of money to use it, knowing it will make me more.

Re: #Pa.Poker
If you know that much about it Forest then you should know the chances that this poker tournament will even bring in the 15 dollars in revenue isnt that big.
Its not like its a 75 dollars bonus from empirebacker or any deal like that - But ofcause investigating what your accusing people of before going around acusing people is too much to ask for people like you i reckon.
Ps. i dont have any poker referal sites etc. nor have i made any money on refering players to poker sites etc. - This was meant to bring in some PA related prices to the tournament on top of the prices from the normal tournament.
The link we will be removed along with the additional PA prices - We will just play a normal tournament then with no PA prices involved.

You offered prizes for people who sign up to a poker site through a revenue earning link.
How much investigation does that need?
Edit: typo.

Lets drop it now, the referal links been removed and despite Red- dropping the prizes Legion has stepped up and is going to supply prizes out of his own pocket so no-ones making money out of this (outside any winnings)
As long as the people taking part are old enough and its not illegal in their country to take part then this is a good community initiative

Yes I am happy ty. I don't see why members of this forum should benefit financially from posting links to gambling.

Re: #Pa.Poker
bahh why dosn't everyone join '#uno' and pester kloopy to put the bot back and then just have a mass uno contest.
benefits
1. no cost -except time to kloopy of the bot
2. anyone can play (assumeing they know how to play uno)
only downside is if people use unstable Irc connections, or don't use Irc.
and 3. theres a 3+ age limit to #uno with the exception of a few people most of you can play!
